everything I could want!
What a great little book! Very complete but moves quickly so it's easy to read, reference, and use with a lot of easily accessible information. The comb binding is really great! I looked at several different options and am very happy that I ordered this!

A Choir Director's Best Friend
This is a MUST for any choir director, whatever the skill level of the ensemble you are in charge of. Tons of great warmups (with explanations of WHY you should utilize each particular exercise) and other useful information for budding young directors and old pros. I use this daily and would probably be lost without it.

For my Daughter
She needed this as part of her education as a music teacher.

I recommend this book for music educators.
I am a Band instructor here in a small school district in E. Oregon. Due to budget constraints, I am now also the Choir instructor. I've sung in choirs, but never really led them, and I never took Choral Methods in college (due to my own arrogance at the time).I am excited for this new challenge, and will be using some of the warm-ups in this book with my groups. I'm always looking for new ways to do things, and if it makes me a better teacher, then it was money worth spending.

you will notice and develop a great sound with your group
This is a must for any choral director. If you read the directions for each warm-up, you will notice and develop a great sound with your group. I highly recommend this book, it is a wealth of knowledge.

Hit-or-miss
The warm-ups in this book fell unevenly into three categories:1) Standard ones that I already use. (about 40%)2) Silly ones that become less relevant the older the student group is (about 45%)3) Truly solid ones that were new to me and I felt would be effective with reinforcing vocal technique (15%)Is the book worth it for that 15%? I would say yes. I think that choral directors are constantly looking for new warmups to steal and use for themselves, as anything that provides a change to the routine or a new way for students to experience a specific vocal technique is worthwhile. This is not the only resource that you would want to have available, but it will absolutely have its uses in your choral program even if the warm-ups diminish in relevance as you move from younger to older kids.

Great Book for Warm-up Ideas!
I love this book! I'm a new vocal coach and I just started working as an Assistant Choir Director. This book has so many great warm-up ideas. It ranges from fun diction exercises for kids to choral harmony exercises. I would recommend this book to any choir/voice teacher!

A welath of warm-up information
This booklet has many suggested warm-ups, suggested orders, and basically explains the warm-up processes and purposes, from physical to vocal to just before the first song. Some warm-ups are more serious; some are silly and just for fun! I like the way the warm-ups are arranged by suggested purpose. Suggestions in the back are made for various types of choirs, as well. The only thing I would have preferred to see more would be more suggestions for contemporary styles.

A very helpful book
I had actually seen this book and liked it enough to want my own copy for reference. In the first part there are masses of illustrations showing pre-singing physical warm-up exercises, best ways to sit and stand, and the shapes the mouth should be in for the different vowel sounds. Subsequently there are many brief voice exercises, each with an explanation of what it is designed to achieve. Altogether very helpful, and probably even more so for choir directors.

Kindle version doesn't work.
This is a review for the Kindle version. Unfortunately the actual music is too small and pale to be read. It can't be enlarged in the same was as the words so, whilst I'm certain this is an excellent book in print, it doesn't work on a Kindle. I'm off to buy the plastic comb version now.

Excellent resource
Great tips on structuring sessions and the need for pace. Super exercises and very practical solutions to everyday problems, especially with changing/developing voices.
