Rotala indica gets its names from its round leaves (see the first picture). In an aquarium the round green leaves are replaced by fine green and red leaves (see the second picture). Rotala Indica is one of the easiest plants to grow that shows some red. Keep the iron and potassium levels towards the higher end of the safe zone to develop a nice red color. It prefers medium to high lighting and can tolerate a wide pH range (5.0 –to 8.5). The stems can be cut and replanted to fill in your aquarium.
