Not a Dance Album
Don't view this album as a dance album - it's a witty rhythm filled 80s throwback pop album that succeeds in sounding fresh and unlike anything else around. P>The acts it calls to mind most are Depeche Mode before they became doom laden, Human League circa Dare and Ultravox at their least pretentious. It's brought up to date by collaborations with Justine Frischmann, Cerys Matthews and Ed Harcourt, but in no case does the guest overshadow the song. And the songs.....? High quality throughout the stand out tracks are Don't Look the Other Way, Sensitivity, I'm Confused and the glorious disco pastiche Disco Doctor. You'll already know some of the tunes as they're being used as backing to TV continuity links. This record is a throwback to an unfashionable time. It's inventive and above all fun. The 80s revival starts here.

try before you buy
Praise after praise has been labelled to this album and rightly so...for part of it. Dance albums are notoriously hit and miss and this borders thinly across the two.The good songs are great-funky, melodic and slickly produced. But, of course, some tracks are just forgettable. The first 5 songs are great but the remainder just meander by humbly until disco comes in, reminding you that this album is actually quite tasty.Comparisons can be drawn with Playgroup and to a lesser extent, Mint Royale's DanceHall places. Both of which are superior albums. Nevertheless, in a world of duff dance fodder, this is refreshing and funky. So, 3 or 4 stars?Well lets go for 3 and a half as a good album it is; for a dance album, 4 stars!

top pop!
I love this album so much. Its a fusion of disco and country and electroand funk and great great tunes with interesting guest vocals!! Justine Frischman sings german and practice her karate, while Ed Harcourt does his best performence ever ever.. Its very entertaining and clever. There has been a few studio albums with different celeb singer the few last years, andusually they bore me, but this one is great. Its got the perfectbalance of humour and retro and funk, and it all sounds very fresh.I think my favourite track must be "The Visionary" with Dr.Fink (Prince & the Revolution) on an amazing keyboard solo. It ends the album.... a great moment! This album belongs in every great record collection! A toast tothe man behind: Hurra Hurra Hurra....

A Killer Album
I'd read about this album in all the papers so I was really curious to hear it. My friend bought it for me from Amazon (why are there no sound files?)and I absolutely love it. It starts with a Krautrock meets Disco track with Justine from Elastica singing, then goes into a country rock song about a murdered girl witb Ed Harcourt singing. In fact the album goes all over the place like a roller coaster without letting you ever lose concentration. You can dance to it, you can relax to it and you can have frienjds over to dinner with it. Pleasure is one of the most versatile and enjoyable albums I've owned in the last two years. You should check it out too. You won't be disappointed!

A very big disppointment
After finding the CD single Dont look the other way in a baragin bin, I fell in love with this track and the b-sides. I read the reviews of the album and I rushed out and bought the album, played it and rushed back to the shop to swap it for something else. I wanted electro pop....I got dull souless music that could have been great. Its the type of album that doesnt know what it wants to be. Pure Rubbish!

If You Think You Are Buying "Pleasure's Future Now" Beware. This CD's Song List Is Misleading. Very Disappointed at Being Suckered By These Folks. When You Click On This Particular CD Be Sure To Read The Reviews Before Purchasing
