Splendid soap scum stopper, perfect for the domestically challenged
We had a situation: I hate soap scum, but hubby can't seem to keep soaps dry (or anything else, for that matter, as you can tell from the black mould in the photo). The concept of lightly shaking water off a wet soap is beyond him. So, after throwing too many good soap bars away because they turned into mush in mere days, I got this. Hubby thinks it's very clever. Obviously, I'm glad it works, but I think it's a bit expensive for a thin piece of twirly vinyl. Still, it does what it says, it's bound to save us some money on soap, and it's cheaper than getting a new husband. It'd be great if it came in other shapes as well, especially circular, and other sizes, to fit any soap dish. I expect it to last us months or even years, but I'll update this review if it wears down too soon.

NOT eco-friendly - don't buy!
I must have been having a senior moment when I ordered this because I failed to appreciate that it's plastic and therefore not in the least "eco-friendly". Even worse, it's absolutely hopeless as soap saver. The moisture from the soap simply sits in the plastic mesh, so the bottom of the soap can't dry out and turns to mush. Hopeless! Don't buy it!

Retains water. All around bad purchase.
It's rubbish. I have no idea why it has so many positive reviews. It's very thin, which means that the water stays within the porous material, forever in contact with the soap. I checked it a few hours after my shower and it was still wet even though most of the surface around it was dry, as if it was retaining the water. Had to put some tissue underneath to actually get it to dry out properly. An alternative would be to buy a soap dish with drainage holes and put this soap saver on top, but really that's just redundant, and this item is extremely expensive for what it is so having to buy another thing to make it work seems just ridiculous. I will be looking to return it.

Don't understand the positive reviews
It seems like leaving the soap sitting directly in the sink would do a better job. Used the soap in the morning, checked on it after I came home in the evening and while all the other surfaces were dry the one touching this product was completely wet and slimy. Been using it for a couple of weeks and it's not just a one-off that happened that particular day. It's expensive and just does not work at all

Surprisingly Impressed
Bought these, not really expecting too much. But I was sick of suds and soapy soap dishes. These are simple and stay clean. I have rinsed it under the tap only once since buying them over a month ago. No wasted congealed soap. Plus the soap doesn't slop around any more. Very happy with these overall as it has also helped with reducing the amount of plastic used as I am now a converted soap user, rather than using shower gel and hand soap. I bought two, one for the kitchen and one for the bathroom. I would go as far to say that this is a far better option than any other soap type dish I have ever used.

Who likes soggy soap?
In an effort to consciously cut down on the amount of plastic (recyclable or not) that I buy, I had returned to the traditional bar of soap. Not only are they generally cheaper than pump bottles of soap, I feel you get a better lather with less ingredients in them. Now, how to sore them... Well I'm sure we've all used a soap dish that has ridges, or raised stage, or a two-part soap dish to try and separate water. Unfortunately, it doesn't take long before the water running off the soap builds up and starts to make the bottom soggy.I was put onto soap savers by my mother-in-law and having seen how long her soaps last with these I decided to purchase them. Whilst they seem quite pricey for what they are, I have to say the soap saver is definitely worth the money. Since using them, my bars of soap dry and aren't soggy and when they get to the end won't break too easily until they're really thin!I find them easy to clean (not that they need much) and even though the initial outset is on the possibly high side, I think these are well made and hence value for money. I can't give five stars for durability as they've not been in place long but I can see them being a very long lasting item.If you're fed up of soggy soap, get yourself one or two of these and prolong the life of your soaps!

Great soap holder for my Lush soft soaps
It works and do exactly what seller described, it's quite thin and just the right size for normal soap bars, I love Lush soaps and they are normally quite soft, so this soap saver is perfect for that and really keep my Lush soap dry and no mess. Very easy to clean and looks much better than those traditional plastic soap dish.

Great bit of kit
Works as expected. Has kept my soap nice and dry. No nasty slimy back. I have popped this inside a solid plastic tray that is attached to my shower wall. The tray does have drainage holes but I found the soap did on some areas sit directly onto the plastic base so stayed wet. This little thing has solved that issue. I have rinsed it out once and I just popped it on my radiator to dry out before putting back in my soap tray.
