CFL AOK: Sylvania 20671 Compact Fluorescent 4 Pin Double Tube 3500K, 13-watt -[Color Temp Chart Image]-
There are multiple Slyvania CFLs listed on this web page so I will first identify which one I am reviewing. The photoon the web page, when you the pick the 3500K and 13 watt options, is exactly the one I purchased May 2015.:: Sylvania 20671 Compact Florescent Bulb Specs :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :: :::: Model #: CF13DD/E/835:: Shape: T4:: Base: G24q-3:: Number of Pins: 4:: Kelvin Color Temp: 3500 (Middle of the ‘bright white’ spectrum. See color temp chart below):: Lumens: 900:: Wattage: 13:: Total Length: 5-3/16 inch:: Bulb Length: 3-11/16 inch:: Base Width: 1-3/8 x 1-3/8 inchI am using this lamp in a ‘Hampton Bay’ ceiling fixture in a bedroom. In case you have other fluorescent brand bulbsin your fixture I will list, for reference reasons, what the manufacturer recommends as replacements. If you have thefollowing bulbs the Sylvania will replace it exactly. The other bulbs are:Phillips Model PL-C 13W/27/4PGE Model F13DBX/SPX27/4P It has been working fine for over a year. I turn the ceiling fixture on and off every day. It probably stays on for about 5-10 minutes a day. This means I have put about 1,800 to 3,600 hours on the bulb so far in one year. It is rated to burnfor 12,000 hours; so far so good. At this rate it should last another 3-4 years. Your mileage will vary. This bulb earns 5 Stars for operating without a problem. I can’t say much more than that this bulb was made in China.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------UpDate NOTE June 2017: This bulb just gave out. It worked for one year of turning on and off twice a day, every day.I rarely kept the overhead bulb burning more than 10-15 minutes.

It Worked
This did the job but man was it expensive! Time will tell about the longevity.

Light is Fine, If You Like Yellowish
Like some of the other reviewers, I have a Panasonic bathroom exhaust fan (Model# FV-08VQL4) and needed to replace the bulbs (Model# FDS18E35/4). I purchased these because I could get them fast on Amazon, instead of the Panasonic ones, which are expensive or take longer to ship. The bulbs arrived in perfect condition, with the boxes wrapped in bubble wrap and shipping was quick with Prime. The bulbs work fine, however, I am displeased with the light output. When searching on Amazon, this bulb came up first as the viable alternative to Panasonic. I wish that it had shown the other, closer options first, because I think that some of the other Sylvania bulbs are more similar in color temperature than this one. As it is, these give off a somewhat yellowish light. I guess it is fine if you like that, but I like the cooler (white/blue) lights. I can't really fault the performance of the bulbs since they work, but the color leaves something to be desired. I wish Sylvania or Amazon did some sort of chart to explain the color output because it would have helped in making a better decision.

Nice light, good price, but . . . .
The price was better on these Sylvania bulbs from amazon than the Phillips bulbs I bought at Home Depot, I just hope they last longer . The Phllips bulbs lasted less than 1/3 as long as advertised on the package. Another whacko greenie scam. These bulbs put out nice incandescent light, and are plenty bright, but the proof if they are any good will depend on how long they last.Well, I'm now on my second set of Sylvania 4 pin cfl's and nope they are no better than the Phillips I bought from Home Depot at nearly twice the price. They only lasted a little over a year, and they are in a Panasonic exhaust fan in the bath, so they aren't on all that long in a day. I guess the claims of a jillion hour life only is if you never turn them off. Right, so let's go out and save the planet ay 3 times the cost!!

I think there's confusion in the spec labels, which makes it really hard to select the right bulb.
This is a joint review of the Sylvania 20683 and the Sylvania 20669 4-pin Compact Fluorescent Double Tube bulb. Confusion is apparent in the Amazon information provided with each of these I think, or maybe the confusion is all mine. First, there are two parameters or specifications from which to choose but each spec, it seems to me, is mislabeled. For example, in lighting the term "Size" might refer to the bulb's physical properties like length and/or width or to its power consumption properties like watts. Size should not be used to describe the bulbs color spectrum (k for Kelvin)! Then there is the issue of "Style". In lighting, the word Style might be use to describe shape or bulb shape but it should not be used to describe wattage! As a result of these mislabeled specifications I have ordered bulbs with inappropriate specs and will have to return the last ones ordered. By specifying a k value I thought I was specifying a a color spectrum (Kelvin) choice but was in fact ordering a change in socket design! If I am correct, Sylvania should be embarrassed to have itx heretofore good name on these bulbs!
