I purchased this train to circle around our Christmas tree. The build quality is OK. As other reviewers have stated it is not a toy and should be used for decoration only. With that being said the track assembly was easy and the track stays together well. The locomotive and cars are very nice. Everything worked as it should. Including the train sounds which you can turn off, the smoke stack and the front light on the locomotive. There is even a few spare parts included. Spare wheels and hitches. In case one of them should get broken. I am very pleased with this train set. I don't think one could do better for the purchase price!

The media could not be loaded. This train seems to be made of good nonflimsy material. The on off switch is on the right side and the sound on off switch is on the left. With the sound on it isn't terribly noisy as most loud trains, but we mostly use it with the sound off. The steam works well but seems to have no pattern, just comes on as it wants. There is no problem with derailing unless it is bumped, and I'm using it on a tree skirt on top of carpet. This does not come with a remote.

The media could not be loaded. Absolutely love this set. It chimes, toots it's horn, rings its bells also the chugging sounds. Took about 5 to 10 min to put together. Only thing, I wish it had was a remote but that's fine. Kitties seem to love it. Great for my grown up boys who are kids at heart. Lol They LOVE trains as do my girls. Husband loves it too. Stores away back into its box nicely. Great purchase. Merry Christmas! 🚂

Great Christmas train! I ordered this for my kids to put together and enjoy this year for Christmas.They absolutely loved and of course wanted to play with it. The train is plastic so kids can play with it if they want but it's not necessarily meant to be used as a toy.The tracks are easy to put together (my young children did it on their own). It fits nicely around the Christmas tree and has a remote and batteries. We didn't end up using the batteries, my kids just liked to push it around the tree.Caution to parents: this is NOT meant to be a toy and it can break, I don't think that speaks to the quality of the item since it's meant to be decorative, but if your kids use it as a toy (like mine did) just know that it can break.

Decent quality for plastic. Perfect for my use around the Christmas tree. Like the sounds, music, and pretend smoke it makes. It does the job for me.

I put 4 new AA batteries inside, will only make noise and wheels don’t work.

This delighted my kids on Christmas morning, but it has several flaws. Yes, it has a switch to turn off the sound, but this switch is too easy for my kids to flip back on when I want it off. Hide that switch or something! It is also very tricky to get it to stay on the track. Kids struggle to line it up just right.

The media could not be loaded. I got it because i wanted the feature where you can have the train running with or without music and i love it! It needs 4 good normal size batterys.
