for this price point this knife is absolutely a homerun. really great feel in the hand, decent looking damascus, the aluminum scales look good and feel very secure with reasonable texture. i love this knife.

This knife I was wondering about it's quality as an Amazon item. I however can speak highly of this knife now. I have owned it for 6 months now, I am.an avid outdoor enthusiasts and use it constantly.The blade stays super sharp at all times with little effort to sharpen, and the quality of the knife is outstanding.I'd by again and again.

Does $3 in Damascene acid-carving (by pattern, nothing hand-done here) make an $8 Walmart knife worth $50? How about the non-hand-tooled (stamped out then machine stitched) leather case with a snap that takes a ton of force to close? Does that make it worth $50 then?How about the nice gift box? The envelope of dessicant prominently located? You're call, not mine, but it's just not worth the asking price. I buy knives like this every month at Walmart for $12 for 3 knives and they don't include the leather holster and they don't include the Damascene etching, but they open and lock just as well, or better, and they have as nice, or nicer finishes on the handle. Their carbon content in the blade is just as high and they sharpen just as well.This is just not a $50 knife by any stretch - maybe $17.99 with the sheath and Damascene etching, but not any more than that - because the rest of it is just a common lock blade.I ONLY RECOMMEND this knife at 1/3rd the current price. Then, yeah, it'll be a nice little thing to fiddle with and enjoy the acid etching.

I bought this as a gift, but I'm keeping it for myself! It's a lovely knife, opens and closes easily, and it's sharp enough to shave the hair on my arm right out of the box. My first Damascus blade, and I love it. A great value and a great purchase.

This knife is just as pretty in person as it is in the listing photos. The carrying pouch is very beautifully done also. The listing says that the pouch has a clip, but mine is an attached loop that you must string through your belt if that's where you want to secure it. My knife pouch has a snap-close feature.The knife is stunning, but mine is not safe to use. The locking mechanism on my blade does not engage 90% of the time. Unfortunately, when I go to use the knife the blade folds back towards my hand -which is a huge safety issue. I tested my knife against a piece of paper, and it took a little bit of effort to get it to cut the paper. I guess I'm lucky to have a semi-dullish knife that won't cut me right away due to a poor locking mechanism. Also, this knife has no grip due to the fine finish. If you tend to drop things, you may want to find a knife that offers more of a textured handle as this one is a little slippery. If you're purchasing this knife to put in a display cabinet and have no intentions of using the knife, this is the right knife for you. If you think you might want to use this knife for knife purposes, look elsewhere for a more reliable, ***safer*** working model.
