Charming little book. Perfect gift for the sensitive soul.

I love poetry and this has already become a fave in my collection. Whatever the life situation, this little book has a prescription to affirm, encourage, and comfort the reader. There’s some familiar big named authors included. Pulitzer Prize winner Mary Oliver’s “Wild Geese” has been a go to ever since I watched a video of Harriet Bonham Carter reading it on a British stage with other actors as well as the editor who carefully selected the collection. Divorce, loneliness, cancer, grief, along with so many other experiences are addressed in this book with the perfect poem as salve for the soul. That’s where poetry resonates for me. If you want a thoughtful present for someone in a rough patch this is it.

Timely delivery, well wrapped, excellent condition of book.

This book is from England. I heard about it from some videos of famous people reading poems from the book. The poems are arranged to ”help” with certain illnesses or conditions like depression or stress. The poems are wonderful. I keep it handy and read and reread one or two poems a week. Never disappointed and always something to think about.

A carefully curated collection of poetry that has provided daily comfort and even guidance. Found Sieghart reading this book on YouTube and couldn’t have made it through 2020 without. I prefer this version but also have the American version on audio, as it’s been wonderful to hear Sieghart read and follow along. Most is the same save for an Americanization of some vernacular.

This is a delightful book! I’ve given it many times does a gift much to the delight of its recipients. For poetry lovers or poetry novices alike, it takes some of the great poems of all times and lets you use them strategically to meet your needs in a particular moment.
