I originally bought these as barefoot deadlifting shoes as I needed traction, which worked well. I took them with me recently for backpacking, which helped a lot when I didn't need boots and walking through creeks and rivers. The rubber sole grips well; the thin material hasn't torn or broken apart. For being water shoes, though, they do not dry fast, which is my only gripe as they would remain partially wet all day after I finished crossing a creek/river. I also took them on a 10-mile walk along the beach, and the sand tended to get stuck, causing some abrasion. For the price, you can't argue.

These are comfortable, lightweight water shoes for the money but beware that the black fabric dye transfers to your skin (at least for the shoe color I purchased (A061 Orange)).
