Perfect replacement remote
Solid quality. Easy pairing to tv. And a good replacement for the one your dog chewed on lol

Like the backlight feature, but it will not update its firmware
Ordered this remote after checking compatibility (Sony XR-75X93L) because liked the backlight function. Finally came in and paired fine with the TV, but TV says a firmware update available and no matter what I am unable to get the remote to update the firmware. Tried all the suggestions from Sony, including restarting the TV. Bluetooth and WiFi are fine. Have asked the vendor here for help. A bit disconcerting as cannot get rid of the notice to update the firmware.

Just the remote I wanted
My Sony A80K came with the base remote with no lighting. This premium remote works perfectly in a dark room. Picking it up makes it light up so I can tell what control I'm hitting.

Seems legit, but lacking product support from Sony
With all the obvious knockoffs of this remote on Amazon I was a hesitant to try this one. It arrives in a generic clear plastic bag, so that doesn't exactly leave one with the warm fuzzies. But as best I can tell this is an authentic Sony remote. Either that or it is an extremely good fake down to all the typefacing on the buttons, labels, logos, QR code, etc. Nothing about the construction of the remote throws up any red flags. It is well made.I will say that it works well with my 2023 Sony Bravia A80L TV and the backlight feature works as expected. It even works for controlling the TV with infrared without bothering to bind it to bluetooth. So it can be used as a second remote. However, if you do bind it to the TV for the bluetooth features, it's like some others have said where it will bind successfully and works fine, but if you try to update the remote's firmware from the TV it will fail to update. I guess I don't see that as a huge problem right now because the remote actually works. All the buttons and voice functions operate exactly like the original remote. Still, it makes one wonder why a Sony TV can't update the firmware on a Sony remote. Especially since this one is exactly the same as the one that came with the TV except for the backlight feature and metallic face. If it is indeed an authentic Sony remote then that's a fail on Sony's part, but perhaps they can fix it with a future update of the firmware flasher on the TV.Edit: An update. I did try this with a cable box and do see the problem others have mentioned after setting up the TV and remote for that box. For whatever reason, the TV is not passing back the programming to the remote to send the IR commands to the cable box as it does with the original remote. I have a feeling that is something that requires the software update that can't currently be applied. I'm not that worried about it since I don't really watch cable TV all that much. And when I do, the dedicated remote for the cable box is much better than using this remote. Even when it's working properly, that infrared integration is a bit cumbersome. I'm just happy that it works well with my Sony receiver via eARC.

Pricing
The remote is very nice but the pricing is not. Following day the price after completed purchase, Amazon lowers price 10%, from $76.95 to $68.95. The price from vendor direct website is $49.99. Disappointing.

Won't update with anything other than the Costco model TV
The remote pairs and functions fine with my X90L but will forever be stuck at its current software (ending in .13) unless paired with a TV bought at Costco (X90CL). I spent over 1.5 hours on the line with Sony tech support so you don't have to :-)I did like it, but I plan to keep my new tv for a while, and the lack of an update path is a dealbreaker for me. The seller says 'for Most Sony 2023 TVs This is the Sony Premium remote' but needs to update their description accordingly. If you don't care about updating the remote software or being pestered to do an update that fails when attempted, then it might work for you, but I'm sending it back.

OEM Remote
Usually products that claim to be OEM are not. This one I believe is, and at a great price! It is excellent quality and looks identical to the one I received with my premium Sony TV. The backlit feature alone is worth the cost!

Can’t get voice control to work
Bought this so my wife and I would each have our own remote. The remote does all basic keypad functions. However after several attempts I have been unable to get the voice control to work. In fact sometimes trying to program the new remote for voice control would cause the voice control on the original remote to stop functioning and would have to reprogram it. There appears to be an update for the new remote but unable to run it. Not sure if the update would solve the issue or if voice control is limited to just a single remote.
