Nothing protects an engine like a good air cleaner. That's probably why the big box stores charge so much. The same exact filter I paid $11 for 2 years ago cost $25 now. I bought a $25 filter and came home and looked for an alternate supply and found these. I compared the filters and found no difference between the two types. They have the same pleat count and guess what the filters from HD no longer include a pre-filter so they wear out many times faster.

Filter quality seems high. Had to buy 4. Would have liked to buy in smaller quantities.

The normal John Deere air filter is $15.60 ... there are 4 for $16. Great deal and fit perfectly even though the John Deere isn't threaded, these a great pressure fit.

This was very easy to install. The size is correct. The picture shows the new filter installed with the old OEM one sitting atop the engine. How well will it perform? I won't know until next season. I changed the oil and oil filter at the end of this season. We'll see how fast or slow the oil gets dirty next season. My fresh oil usually stays very clean looking through the first half of each season. If this filter does the same then I'll come back and add another star. So Far, So Good!
