Lightweight but strong cloches
These little cloches are provided with metal rods to secure to the ground, and they certainly have kept them in place even during the recent windy and stormy weather. I wanted to protect young plants from the squirrels and so far these cloches have done the job. They are green too so they blend in rather than look out of place. Great product !

They seem to work
They are not very tall but hopefully will be big enough for long enough to get my cauliflower and cabbage plants established before pigeons rip them out of the ground and a frost damages them.

A great low cost investment in your early Spring garden
My early Spring usually consists of daily patrols to scout out which plants are being attacked by earwigs or slugs. Or both! And it seems there are certain ones that get picked on by these attacks every year. This is where these cloches will come in useful for me. I have purchased a few in the past. The bargain ones weren’t bargains as they were so flimsy they didn’t last. The ones that were better quality cost way too much to be purchased in any numbers. These cloches are at least the sturdiness of the better quality ones but at about the price of the bargain ones. So I was amazed and thrilled when they arrived and I realized this about them. And the details on them weren’t found on any I’ve purchased prior to these. Like the included stakes, enough for two per cloche. And the holes in the bottom lip for said pegs, never seen that before! I really like the flat top to the cloche as my good quality ones were done topped. This flat top allows me to place a rock or larger piece of mulch over the opening if the slugs and earwigs find their way inside. They are also a great size for both height and diameter, being tall enough that the developing plant should be tall enough and robust enough to withstand the pests. Aside from pest protection, these will also be very handy for early plantings that may be threatened by cold snaps, or even frost/freezing. These will create a protective bubble of warmer air to insulate them. And having 30 of these cloches now gives me more than I’ve needed for the pest issue and can use for the frost protection. And the quality leads me to believe I will get many years of use from these making them an even better value!

Protects Against Birds & Rabbits
These cloches have worked well to prevent freshly sown seeds from being eaten by birds and to prevent sprouts from being eaten by rabbits. The product comes as a pack of 30 cloches where each cloche can take 4 stakes, but you only get 60 stakes in total so you would not be able to use all 30 cloches simultaneously if you also wanted to use 4 stakes for each. The cloches are easy to install, it doesn't take much effort at all.The product also comes with a basic pair of gardening gloves. There's nothing particularly remarkable about the gloves. As for cons, unfortunately, raccoons are still able to overcome these: My camera caught one of the pests still managing to dig up and overturn a cloche held down by 4 stakes. I haven't seen it yet, but I do suspect that squirrels may also be able to overcome these. At $40, the pricing is on par with other similar products on available Amazon.

Double Duty
I have two uses for these. At the end of the season, what ever runners on my strawberry plants look like they might not be rooted deep enough are getting one of these. I've had some strawberry plants I started too late in the season die over the winter, even when mulched. These will at least give them a bit better chance of surviving (winter is evil in Canada--we go 0 to 20cm real quick). Also, anything I started indoors that's looking even a little leggy is going under one in the spring. I lost half my cucumber plants last year (which, I suppose, is why you should sew them directly). Those are the good parts. Now for the ugly. They're super thin. I'm pretty sure a harsh winter snowfall will collapse these so I doubt they'll be good for more than one season. Also, 2 years ago there was a hail storm in late May/early June that devastated my hot pepper plants. They were much too big and healthy for these cloches to cover, but had they been on them that hail would undoubtedly have shredded them to pieces. It came down with such force it knocked peppers off the plants. So in that sense, they're like a lock on your door. If someone is trying to turn the knob and walk in, it will keep them out. If they're kicking your door in, it won't. We use locks knowing very well they only keep out the least motivated of criminals. For the same reason, I'll gladly use these to discourage the chipmunks, burrowing rodents, bugs, and birds at least until the plants have a chance of surviving.Only giving them 4 stars because I think they were manufactured much too thinly for the climate in Canada.

What a great deal!
I am so excited to get these. We had a hail storm last year and had I had these puppies to put over my plants they would have come out of it much better than they did! Another reason I love these plant covers is they protect your plants in every way! Wind, hail, hot sun, birds, etc. Once your plants have a chance to put down roots they can handle the sun and wind etc without wilting. These are a good size for starting plants and I especially appreciate the pegs to keep them in place as well as instructions on how to use them. Bonus gloves I may or may not use as I have my favourite gardening gloves. You get an abundance of cloches_30 and pegs_60 so well done! And I love that they are green over clear as I feel they give better protection in filtering the sun_I’m happy and I can’t wait till spring to use my cloches!
