Product good; software bad; not for Windows XP!
The product itself is great. Much faster and better than any Vci cable. Software and tech support were difficult, however. Not helpful at all.First of all, THE VXDIAG SOFTWARE DOES NOT WORK ON WINDOWS XP(unless you happen to have XP Service Pack 3 for Developers, which is no longer available for download). It works fine on Windows 7 and 10 though. You simply install the VXDIAG software, then plug in the device and allow the USB drivers to automatically load. The included method of using Techstream is a joke. Any antivirus will snatch it up into quarantine, and identify it as a trojan. There was another way on the older versions where you could swap an executable and enter an access code.

Not worth it
Latest software does not work. It asked to register the software. Forced to download an older which contains Trojan viruses. Seller ask you to leave your pc unprotected to use a broken software riddled with viruses, no thanks. This should have been mentioned that it’s dependent on the official software from Toyota.

Works well
If you are not moderately tech savvy, stay away.If you are, this worked well with a fresh install on my old Dell XPS 13 (i7/250GB SSD/8GB Ram) with Windows 11 Pro 64bit.The card included in the box with the software link was outdated and did not work, so I had to message the seller, who took a little time to respond but did ultimately get me instructions, the install files for v16 & v18 after a few days.Software will prompt for a license from time to time but is more annoying than anything.Beats paying the dealer for techstream related things!

Works
Software sucks but hey it’s free. There’s ways to get an unlimited license for tis for about 30Dollars combine the two and you’re still way cheaper than getting a mongoose dongle.

Works Perfect if you have moderate tech ability
All the negative reviews have one common thing...user error. Anyone using TS knows you need an old junk computer that you disable the anti-virus software and keep it off the internet. Software works perfectly, unit arrived with the most recent firmware.Sure the software is sketchy, but it works.Worked PERFECT on a 2023 GX460, 2022 GX460, 2017 GX460, 2019 GX460 and a 2007 GX470. MUCH better than the cheap cable that I previously purchased. This one has my seal of approval.

Does the job
It works fine. Upgrade the FW before, if needed.Forget about hacked TIS, it’s crappy.Get a short time subscription, one hour or so and do what you have to do.

Complete Garbage
Wasted so much time and whole date figuring out how to install this garbage that does not want to work, downgrade my laptop windows to windows 8 and when you run the app it will throw error messages and does not do anything, though it does “Relearn” for camshaft. It does nothing. You will run into issues out of the box
