Paperblanks Black Moroccan Antique Renaissance Style Notebook Unlined Wrap Writing Journal Blank Sketch Book

I thought it was quite pretty online- but wow! This book is truly gorgeous in person! The cover isn't quite as red as the amazon picture would have you believe. It's more like a rich warm brown with red tints in the "faded" areas. I find I prefer that. The book is a nice, solid weight and the cover flap must be magnetic. It's pretty easy to open, but the cover is definitely secure. Excellent! I was not expecting that! I also love the two bookmark ribbons (one red, one gold) instead of just one.The pages are wonderfully smooth and appropriately thick. I took a black/white picture and placed it between two sheets of this book to see just how opaque the pages were. Glad to report that only pitch black values faintly showed through. To give you a better idea, I put the same picture in a regular 3-subject notebook and found that two pages roughly equaled the one page of the sketchbook. Wonderful! Only the darkest sketches/drawings should faintly show through then.I must say that I am considering putting it in a book-sleeve to protect the edges while carrying it around in my hazardous bookbag. Just an idea for all those on the go. ;)

Perfect notebook for art and journaling.Amazing paper quality, smooth, not too thick, does not bleed through. Works well with watercolor, pens / markers, pencil, and gouache paint.Definitely the best journal I’ve ever gotten. Just purchased my 3rd notebook.

I very much like this particular product and the way it is set up. from the strong binding, the leather-bound cover with a magnetic clasp, and the quality paper that's proper for drawing, writing, or other general purposes. overall I recommend this product to all.

What I received wasn't a sketchbook at all. The label was printed exactly as it is here on Amazon (Black Moroccan Sketchbook - Journal, Blank/Unlined Pages - Hardcover and Eco Friendly - 8" x 12") but what received was, in fact, a guestbook, and one that looks almost NOTHING like the book pictured, the only similarity being the color. It is landscape, has a latch open ( a broken one, at that,) and has lined pages clearly intended for signatures.I purchased this as a Christmas present for my brother, and I am highly disappointed. I will be returning the book I received, and can only hope that the one I ordered to replace it arrives on time.

A journal lasts me about 2 years, and I enjoy the biennial search for a new "best friend." For the first time, I went BACK to this model after filling a few others because I missed its combination of features. I require unlined pages so I'm not constrained in any way. Also, I look for thick paper so I can use both sides without worrying about bleed through. I much prefer the larger letter-size pages that invite creativity (and verbosity!) - I've been known to draw or doodle or use markers when the mood strikes. (No, I'm not an artist - nor artistic.) A bonus - the paper is smoother than most - it feels "good" to write on. The hard cover doesn't get in the way - sometimes it's a plus. The only thing I miss about journals with soft leather covers and a leather tie is the ability to tuck a pen into the journal. Although the cover color is "black" it's not black. More of a dark brown. I'm glad this model was available so many years after I bought the first one.

I just love it it is beautiful. It is a more brown then the picture look's but it still a very nice color. The pages are thick enough that only the darkest of sketches might barely show through. It lays flat open for ease or work. I would buy it again and again.

I'm a professional artist with a weakness for fanciful, super pretentious sketchbooks, and this one has been my favorite. I filled two of these now and thought they were discontinued, so I was so happy to find another. Great size for drawing full figures, and excellent paper quality. There's a little bit of texture on every other page, but that's something I like.

Probably mostly my fault, but this is a pretty sub par journal/ sketch book. If you're looking for something to just look good, then this will do, but it's far from being as elegant as it is made out to be. The price of this is far to much for the quality. Im a bit disappointed in myself for buying it.

Es hat die Optimale Größe, orig. verpackt. Macht einen sehr stabilen Eindruck. Sehr gerne wieder.
