Tamil Alphabet Writing Workbook (Bilingual English Tamil (Tamizh) Children Activity Workbooks)

I am an English speaker headed to Tamil speaking areas and want to learn to read Tamil in at least a rudimentary way. This workbook is going to be very helpful, even though it is not designed for English speakers - more of a basic workbook for children learning how to write their own Tamil language. That said, it was easy to find the english pronunciation of each Tamil alphabet letter on line, and I just wrote that in above each practice page. Each page gives the learner multiple opportunities to trace the letter and then write it by oneself. This script is really beautiful and I am enjoying using this book. It has an alphabet section, a section for combined letters, and then a section of basic vocabulary words illustrated by pictures and thus no english translation needed. I probably wouldn't have ordered it had I realized it lacked english explanations, but I am glad I didn't know that because it is actually much more useful and helpful than some versions that have the english equivalencies.

For a child or adult learning to write the Tamil alphabet, this book will be very helpful. The unique Tamil script is difficult to learn to read and write. Reading and writing practice is a must for learning any new language. These pages will be great help for the beginner.

Can all the books related to learning tamil not be made available digitally via ebooks? There aren't any tamil learning facility where I live. I'd appreciate it so I can teach myself. I am 57 years.

The book provides a simple format to learn to write every letter, but it has to be used in conjunction with the other books in the set to comprehend letter pronunciation. The book on its own is therefore aimed at learners who might just want to practice the script. The introduction of the book states that the book is meant for younger learners, but I would recommend this book to anyone at a beginner's writing level.

Please dont buy it. Not worth the money at all.
