Perfect for small or medium pots and planters.
Includes: 4 terracotta ollas with cork inserts. Each ollas with cork weights in at 8.3 ounces each. These are nice and small overall.Great for medium pots or small too medium planters.Give these a gentle wipe off with a micro fiber towel before use.Found two spots I could test these out fast.A medium sized raised garden bed.Left and right sides.Planting celery around each olla self watering pot.Spaced the plants around 6 inches away from the olla pot.Setup.Water the planted before installing the ollas.Use your standard hand trowel.Remove soil and insert ollas up to the bottom of the color ring. Each ollas has a different ring color.Light gray, light green, light tan, light blue. The top color area is glazed and will protect the top of the olla.Fill the ollas with water and then insert the top cork piece. In the location that I picked, I'm getting around 7 days of use before a fill up is needed. That's still great if I miss a few watering days.See photos, you can see the water drop a good inch a day.Checking on each ollas is as simple as uncorking the top and taking a quick look.Fill up is fast and easy, anyone could do it.Also purchased and made 2 ollas using standard terracotta pots with saucers.Ended up spending a lot more than just picking up this set of 4.Overall.Well crafted product and simple to use.Has a great overall appearance.Glad I picked these up and I bet my plants will agree.Hope this was helpful.

Excellent, slender ollas
We’ve purchased ollas in the past and loved them. While we’ve never relied on them exclusively for our plants’ watering, they do:1. Provide a bit of insurance for outdoor plants, providing protection during heatwaves or a forgotten watering day.2. Allow watering to be put off altogether for a short while in the event that you’re traveling. These specific ollas are really made with potted plants in mind. The design is on the thin end, which results in a trade off - these are a great size for 10-12” pots and should leave some room for your plants’ roots, but this also means their water storage is a bit reduced compared to outdoor models with a more globular, wide design. As all of our potted plants are pretty well established, we held off on using these indoors. They’re large enough that you’d really need to pull your plants out and repot them, as you likely can’t otherwise insert these into a pot with an existing plant. For new plantings/pots, however, these would work great, and given their size, I think indoor plants are probably their best application.Ultimately we ended up installing these near the base of several fruit trees/shrubs in our yard. I do t think these will be large enough to provide for the plants’ entire water needs, but as we live in an area prone to unexpected heatwaves and drying, gusty winds, we’re hopeful that these will provide and extra layer of protection to our newer plantings.Overall, the quality of these seems great, they were well packed and survived shipping just fine, and they’re fairly attractive and easy to spot due to the glazing on their necks.Overall, these are a great design for potted plants and might even work for raised beds, though their skinnier and smaller overall than other designs we’ve seen, so just make sure this is the right fit for your gardening needs!

Watering made easy!
I love these ollas! They're so much better than glass watering globes. I debated about making my own ollas using 2" terra cotta pots but they take up a lot of space in my indoor pots. These are the perfect size for my 8"-10" pots (which is what they recommend). What I love about it the most is NO GNATS and I don't have to remove anything. I just stick a chopstick in the pot to see how low the water is and just fill it up when it's time to refill. So why the 4 stars? It doesn't come with instructions, so if you plan to give them as a gift you'll have to explain what it is and how to use it. Hopefully the person you're giving it to is a plant person and knows what ollas are. Other than that, these are really great and would definitely recommend if you're looking for a self watering system.

Made well, work great
These terracotta ollas are made very well. The shape is nice and they hold plenty of water.Because they have a cap, the water dissipates slower into the soil and doesn't evaporate into the air as fast. Both good things. Before burying these ollas into a pot, make sure to soak them first. Soaking them helps the water break through the terracotta - sort of jump-starting the process.I like to bury these ollas into the soil right up to the neck of the container - leaving just the top and cap sticking out.Once buried, remove the cap, fill with water, and replace the cap. The water will slowly seep through the terracotta and go right to the roots. Refill with water as needed.TIP: Plants that like continually moist (not soggy) soil will definitely benefit from these ollas.I recently brought several large tropical plants inside for the winter after being out on our patio all summer. I transplanted these plants into indoor pots and used the ollas with them. Because of the size of the ollas, I think they would be difficult to add to an existing potted plant without disturbing the roots of the plant - so I recommend adding them when transplanting/repotting instead. The only negative for me is I'm not a fan of the colored rings around the tops of the containers. I would have preferred just all terracotta for a more natural look.Overall, I really like these ollas and find them very easy to use. I do recommend them.
