I try to shy away from using heli-coil type thread repairs when possible but sometimes you do not have many other options. If possible it is always better to drill out a size larger and re-tap the threads. When that is not an option then this type of install is one of your only other options.Includes a nice metal case for holding all of the tools and accessories. Has a wide range of different sizes with includes coil threaded inserts to match. Supports Metric size 5 through metric size 12. All of the threaded tools seems to be fairly clean and not have too many burs. Handles have a nice coating that makes them easier to work with.

I've used a couple of these so far to fix stripped threads and they've worked great. Easy to use.

This is one of those products that you hope to never need, but when you need it... you really need it. If you spend enough time turning wrenched, then eventually you'll likely to need to install a Helicoil.I'm pretty impressed with this kit, it's pretty comprehensive and includes everything you need for a relatively wide range of sizes. I've only needed it once, do far, and everything worked well and i was able to successfully repair my destroyed threads (well, actually replace them with this kit). I'm not sure if this is up to professional mechanic standards, but for the home mechanic or equipment owners, I think this is a really good buy. One use of the kit and it's more than payed for itself... plus you have it on-hand for the next disaster when you need it. The key to installing a Helicoil insert is patience and to take your time.. if you're good with wrenches, then you can install on of these if you take your time.I think this kit is a good value and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.Recommended.

Excellent packaging and organization! Built with a metal container, latch, and even has instructions printed on the inner side of the lid, which is really nice. Comes with each appropriate sized drill, tap, helicoils, punch, and applicator tool. When doing engine work this can really turn a bad day into a good night.
