NOT A 195 DEGREE THERMOSTAT!
I thought I was purchasing a 195 thermostat, received the package along with several others and delivered to the shop installing a rebuilt engine on our 07 charger. From start-up on, the car hovered just below the half line on our gauge (no numbers, idiot marks only). I never liked this, you could smell the generated heat, after turning off the car, tremendous heat under the hood.Decided to change the t-stat at 1500 miles, bought a Mishimoto 180 degree stat, after pulling off this part, was shocked that it is a 203! I called the mechanic, though I had told him we wanted a reduced temp stat, he had forgotten and installed what I delivered. I decided that from now on, I'm going to video EVERY package delivered.I was absolutely furious and have waited a day and a half before writing this review (too many expletives in the original). Understand this: the Charger is our #1 car. When it blew 2 months after buying and after soaking another 8 grand into this motor and several other replacement/upgrades, we have nurtured the break-in. Doesn't mean it has been babied, just highly monitored regarding fluids and habits. Having the car run hot during break-in F****** pisses me off! This and every other vendor delivering parts not described, needs to change. Look, we love Amazon, and own stock in the company. The problem with something like a thermostat, is it may be 3 or 4 years before it is changed, and heat is the enemy of this and every engine. I've stressed that all of the time devoted to making this break-in as perfect as possible has been at least partially blown. We understand that Dodge specifies a 203 thermostat, but face it, they are in the business of selling engines and parts, running "hot" expedites that end. Cynical, yes, but at 63 I've seen changes, some for the better, many worse. I am going to return the part if not past the date. This vendor owes me a lot more, (time, coolant, FRUSTRATION) that I cannot request, so giving this a 1 star review. CHECK YOUR ORDERS!
