Ace Evert 8603 Dual Function Umbrella, 9-Feet, Sunbrella, Beige

I just purchased one of these and, as one of the other reviewers noted, it doesn't come with a base. The umbrella pole is not round and I was having trouble finding a base that was large enough to accomodate it so I called the company. The rep I talked to was surprised that Amazon was still selling this model (#8603) as they discontinued it 2 years ago. They have replaced it with the Shade Tracker (model 8620). It used to sell with a base (as in the picture) but they don't make them anymore. I did find a base that I could use but it needs to have a 2" diameter pole hole (most are only 1.5" diameter). It also needs a 200 lb weight to stabilize it. It's a very nice product but you need to consider these other things if you decide to purchase this model.

The umbrella seems to be alright, but the picture on-line indicates that it comes with a base (legs). The unit does not ship with a base and therefore will not stand on its own.

I ordered based on the photograph, and was surprised, like the others, that it didn't come with a base. It would be helpful if the photograph showed EXACTLY what you were purchasing.

I like the versatility of the umbrella but it does not come with a base. The pictures from the ordering site are misleading and it never states that it does not include a base.

This umbrella does not come with a base, and because the pole is oval shaped it is difficult to find a base that fits. We returned the umbrella because even the manufacturer could not tell us where we could find a base. The picture on amazon is deceiving because it shows a base and even recommends buying a second base to set over it to keep it weighted down.

The umbrella arrived faster than expected. It was easy to assemble and looks great.
