I made this coin necklace from an authentic Colombian coin. The copper-nickel-zinc coin is valued at 200 Pesos and dated 2015. It features a Scarlet Macaw parrot sitting on a tree branch on one side of the coin with the value and date on the other. The bird is native to Central America. After I domed the coin, I drilled, cleaned, and polished it to a shiny patina. I wire wrapped a green glass bead to the coin, flanked by two small silver-tone metal beads. Everything hangs from a rhodium-plated Figaro style chain secured by a lobster clasp. The coin has a diameter of 7/8 inch (23mm) and hangs 1 7/8 inches (48mm) from a 20 inch (50.8cm) rhodium-plated, Figaro style chain secured by a lobster clasp. The chain can be shortened upon request.
