Purina Deli-Cat Cat Food

We adopted a cat from our local shelter about two years ago. He was around two years old and was a stray so we had no clue about his history and what he was fed. He started vomiting as soon as we got him home. The vet recommended we switch his food, so we did. Just when we would think we found the right food for him, he would start vomiting again. We literally went through a half-dozen different kinds of cat food (canned, dry, high-end) until we happened to try this one. He stopped vomiting and we were so relieved. He started to put on weight and everything seemed fine until one day we ran out of food and my husband bought a different brand on accident. Sure enough, he began vomiting again. I had an extremely difficult time finding this brand locally (our supermarket stopped carrying it) and have been getting it on Amazon for about a year now. Our cat won't touch any other kind of food (people food), he only eats this cat food. I am just glad he tolerates it and I'm glad I can order 12 boxes at a time (via Subscribe'n'Save). Thanks Amazon!!

My cat is a rescue and when I adopted him, I intially fed him DeliCat. He loved it but after a while, it was hard to find at local stores. Consequently, I bought several other brands but my cat did not like them, and, in some cases, he actually vomited. I do a lot of shopping at Amazon so I did a search and, fortunately, found DeliCat in a variety of sizes.Star, my cat, really enjoys eating his DeliCat. In fact, he likes it too much because he's starting to put on weight. I'll have to cut back on his portions as he would eat non-stop. With the other cat foods, he only nibbled and never wanted seconds. My friend's cat also likes the DeliCat formula so it definitely is "cat approved."I like the plastic container that holds the food. It's easy to carry, keeps the food super fresh and the empty containers are useful for storage or carrying garden water. They can also be recycled.I sure hope that Amazon will continue to carry DeliCat because it isn't easy to find in the local market. Based on my cat's approval of DeliCat, I would recommend this product without reservation.

I don't know what it is about this cat food but I've never met a cat who doesn't love it. I've been feeding Deli Cat to an assortment of cats for years...from house cats to feral cats and they all chow down on it like they haven't eaten in months. I've also recommended it to many cat owners with the same results...everyone says they're cats love this stuff. I'm sure it's not the best quality cat food you can buy so now that I'm a little more savvy (via the computer age) about nutrition for animals, I mix this with a "healthy" food so I feel better about what I feed my pet. But, I can't help but recommend this food to anyone who has a fussy animal or one that hasn't been eating well. I bet they'll eat this!For some reason it's getting harder and harder to find in regular grocery stores so I really appreciate Amazon carrying it in several different sizes. I just ordered the 12 1lb boxes with the Subscribe and Save option, which is a terrific price...cheaper than I can find it anywhere. Plus it gets shipped right to my door. What more can you ask? I highly recommend!

I'm the kind of pet owner that likes to buy expensive food for my animals. I'm a sucker for all that grain-free/organic/limited ingredients marketing, but regardless of my preferences my cat will not eat anything else. I got her when I was 17 so my mom would just buy her whatever she grabbed from the grocery store. She would sometimes stop liking something and we'd have to switch her but once we got her this she refused to eat anything else. Even recently, my mom couldn't find it and she would wait to eat until she was starving so I was happy to find it on amazon. I don't know what it is about it, maybe the container keeps it fresh, but she's already 15 and as active as she's always been. So I'm happy and will continue to buy this for her.

I have 4 rescued cat sisters who started eating this after the vet found wheat mites in their bagged food. Once I switched to the plastic jugs the vomiting and diarrhea stopped. They enjoyed the food for 12 years and then without warning all of the local stores stopped carrying it. Thank heavens for Amazon.com. Now I can get their food delivered to the house and it only costs me a few pennies more. It's actually cheaper when I figure in the cost to drive to a market and lug the jugs back home. Cats are healthy and happy and so are their people.

As the proud owner of three Maine Coons, two over 20 pounds, I will drive the streets of downtown Atlanta late at night for this particular cat food (and I am a white-haired granny). I was thrilled when Amazon put it on Subscribe and Save. My biggest cat will stretch herself across the threshold of a room and bite my legs if her bowl is empty of this food. Mind you, I keep three large bowls of three different types of food for them, but she only bites when out of this food. I have no idea what delight is in this container, but my furry girls only beg for this food (and my cooked food)! Amazon's price is by far cheaper than Walmart, CVS, KMart, or Public, so this is nice too. However, I would buy it whatever the price. According to the reaction from "the ladies," this is the only dry food to buy.

Why oh why did this get discontinued?? This was the only cat food that came in jugs and buckets, the only good containers. Every other single food comes in bags. Very inconvenient, bulky, messy, cumbersome, dirty, stinky, crappy, ugly, lazy, irresponsible, disrespectful, immature, silly bags. And my cats loved this food more than any other.

There is only one local grocery where I live that carries the DeliCat brand. It's the only food this #@$% picky cat will eat. Buying 4 jugs at once saves time. trouble and money! Great way to stock and save. It costs around $8 - $9 a jug where I live. Prime members ship free so heck yes I would do this again!
