Paris Secrets: Architecture, Interiors, Quartiers, Corners

Guess I was the last to get this book from Amazon, at $37.00, I first ordered this book from Amazon, on valentimes day, Febuary 14, 2011, it stated allow 1-3 weeks for devivery, then I got an emai from Amazon, saying the book would be shipped out March 29, then I got an email on March 29, saying delayed untill April 24, the book finally arived April 30, FINALLY! Now onto the book itself, first off the picture shown on the Amazon website is actually the back cover, which is then also shown in the book itself, the front cover has a picture of the Eiffel Tower, then some other mixed in pictures in strips, As for the book itself, it has outstanding breathtaking pictures of all aspects of Paris, soo inspiring, makes you want to move there and be a part of this spectackular city!, only wish this book was like some of the other french books that I have having 400 plus pages, if you cant get this book I would highly suggest geting ( Living in Paris, or Tashchens Paris ), enjoy, cheers, and bonjour!

The photographs are fabulous. This is a beautiful book. Full page pictures and I fell in love with Paris all over again.

A run of the mill book of stock Paris photos with disappointing and highly unethical undertones of sponsored advertising with repetition of some photos (which are too often printed out of register)- Hotel Bristol, apartment rentals - Chez vous.com and alcarte-paris-apartments (we really needed 12 pages of photographs? The inside of Le Grande is far more noteworthy with Eiffel designed glass atria), Angelina's, Chateau les Merles - 16 photos courtesy of the latter - if this is an advertising venture then cut the price or add Air France, RATP, FNAC and give it away.Very disappointing

When you buy a travel book- which I thought this was- you expect some information on the locations that were of interest to the author. Maybe you are going there - like I am - am would like to experience the architecture, quartiers, corners for yourself. No such information is forthcoming - only very general comments about the areas and nothing specific about the locations of the pictures.

This book is not only beautifully illustrated, but the prose is imaginative, evocative, and clearly celebrates this wonderful city. It is a nicely niced book; neither too hulking nor too skimpy. Of course, for me, I wish it could have been longer, because I never tire of learning about Paris and her many secrets.

My daughter's a Francophile. This book is preparing her well for that day she enters the City of Light. Unlike Ms. Paltrow, she may end up going there without her father. But we'll always have Paris--in this wonderful book.

Wonderful wonderful captures of Paris! Plan to purchase another for a gift. Exceeded my expectations in quality. Lovely photos and not just usual tourist shots.

Excellent product and seller!

The book itself is really nice with amazing photographs. However, despite being plastic wrapped, when I opened mine it smelled of mould and every page was stuck together.

The book is quite dated looking. Pictures aren't vibrant and as exciting as the cover. The book I received did not have the same jacket as the one shown. I was so excited to receive it after a wonderful trip to Paris, but sorry to say, it did disappoint.
