Phenomenal price considering through my school it was over $100 more.

Easy book to read and follow. Chapters are short, which is preferable for a class that's required but not really much of an interest to the student.

There was a bit of water damage.

The book was for school. I didn't use it , but it was there just in case.

This book has pretty short chapters so I can read them for class and I don't have to spread it out over a week or so. I also like that diagrams, graphs, ad charts, are used to explain what is stated in the text. It's really nice if you're a visual learner like me.

Needed this for a class, it was extremely expensive everywhere else. This was a good find and very handy for my class.

Up-to-date (2017 pub.), comprehensive, though quite technical at times. I would recommend it to those who want to learn more about the natural environment, but nonstudents may prefer to skip over specific results of experiments when the point of them can be summed in a sentence or two. A welcome feature is the substantial inclusion of examples of plants and animals from the North American content, ones we might actually see on walks in nature. Oddly, many other texts mainly discuss exotic species far away from most readers. It is important these days for everyone to get some objective information about the environment, amidst all the often uninformed opinions out there.
