Pros and Cons with this product
We have used old style chains, snow socks and now considering these as an option.Firstly lets be clear, when it comes to winter weather conditions in the Alpes, essentially chains ONLY are mandatory to have. However, anyone who has ever tried to fit chains knows they can take hours if you get them on at all. Its just nearly impossible to get them behind a tyre while in snow and connected and then have any chance of getting all tight. You have to move the car back and forward many times which in itself it hard.Snow socks are enormously better to install, taking minutes. But they can get ripped and should never be used for long off snow or ice.So which these limitations its worth considering this kind of arrangement. There are 8 in the pack so that's only enough for a single wheel. So you would need at least 2 packs to be of any use. That's not really made clear.I was expecting something lighter and less substantial. These are each a very strong bit of plastic with cord and fitting to metal tighten. As such 2 packs would really weigh quite a lot. Really too heavy to bring with holiday luggage to use on a rental car. So that is similar to chains in that they just weigh too much. They appear substantial and should have great grip. In fact in the snow resort we go to they have this kind of fitting on the tyres of their local authority snow clearing JCB. I don't have any concerns as to performance.I don't think its likely that they would take 5 minutes to fit or for ladies. Realistically they would take around 1/2 hour minimum. But still likely better than chains. You have to do 16 which if they take 2 minutes each would be 32mins.They do have the advantage that obviously they can fit any type of car rental wheel size, so again that is better than chains or snow socks which are limited to certain dimensions. That is perhaps the main advantage over the other options. So overall, there are advantages and disadvantages. It really depends on the context.

Easy to use
Easy to put on a car. I do wonder if they will work in mud for festivals too.

Garbage
Absolutely useless! Easy enough to put on and take off, but provide negligible extra grip in the snow, and you can't drive any distance on a cleared rode because of the horrendous vibration and noise. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Living in an area prone to heavy snowfall, I recently invested in the Snow Chains for Cars, and they have proven to be a winter essential that I won't go without. The set includes 8 anti-skid snow tyre cables, providing an unbeatable grip on snowy and icy roads. The adjustable design ensures a snug fit on tires ranging from 165mm to 255mm, making them versatile for various vehicles. The installation process is surprisingly straightforward, especially with the included gloves, which make handling the chains in freezing temperatures much more manageable. Once installed, these snow chains provide unmatched traction, giving me the confidence to navigate through challenging winter conditions. Whether faced with thick snow or slippery ice, these chains have consistently delivered a secure and stable driving experience. What stands out is the durability of these snow chains. The robust construction and high-quality materials make them reliable for repeated use without compromising performance. I've encountered various winter terrains, from muddy paths to deep snow, and these chains have excelled in providing the extra traction needed to keep my vehicle moving smoothly. In summary, the Snow Chains for Cars are a must-have for anyone facing harsh winter conditions. Only 8 strips in a bag
These will be great in a pinch, I have these now in my car for the few days a year the roads get really icy or there is snow.Inside the bag are 8 cable tie chains, the thick plastic section with a woven nylon section around the back. Each strip has 4 metal studs. The only thing for me is 8 feels like it is the bare minimum, with only 4 ties per wheel. I would think of 8 at the more useful number, so for me I see one pack as being good for 1 wheel, or as a I have done, put it in for emergencies and hope it will do the trick. The quality feels fine, although I would not want to do great distances on them.I am not sure when I will get the chance to road test these, so I will review them as I see them, when the weather turns rotten and I get a chance to give them a good go I will return with a more useful opinion.

Fantastic design, very easy to put on. Look substantial.
We live in a remote Scottish village at the top of a hill, there is only one way out and the same way in so in the winter we have to be able to get up the hill. Last year we tried a different version of these that were ok, but these look to be a lot better. These are more substantial plus they have aluminium studs on them to grip the ice, similar to the ones I have on my winter boot grips. They are easy to fit to your wheel, and to take off. You get a hook to pull the webbing through your wheel and then the webbing goes through the ratchet, there is a removeable handle to tighten up the ratchet, it doesn’t take long, there are even gloves included to keep your hands clean. You get 8 in total, depending on the situation you can have all 8 on one drive wheel or 4 on each. A must have to have in your boot in the winter, we once got stuck in an icy car park and tried lots of things to get out, luckily there was a van of builders nearby, there won’t always be though.
