FANTASTIC! WORKS PERFECTLY!
Handy little gadget for transferring VHS over to digital files via my PC. I hook this up to my 'Globmall' HD streaming/recording box and simply press Play on the VHS and Record on the box. The cassette plays and the box records straight to USB as mp4 format. Perfect. No messing about.

Does what it's supposed to.
It's hard to rate this unit as it's difficult to have a comparison of picture quality from VHS these days, but it seems to do a fairly decent job of upscaling the picture to my LG 4K UHD TV.Easy to use, I took the USB power from one of the outlets on the back of the telly. The 720/1080p switch doesn't seem to make a great deal of difference to output so seems a bit redundant, but maybe my telly is also doing some upscaling so it could just be me.

Allows you to use your old AV equipment on hdmi TV's
TIP: This is scart to hdmi, example old VHS tape player with scart output to new TV with HDMI input. It does not connect hdmi output to scart input.TIP: power on the adaptor first then connect the scart cable and then connect the hdmi.I bought this adaptor as I have some old family movies on VHS tape and an old VHS player.Unfortunately, my new TV doesn't have any, scart connections so I was unable to watch this films anymore. This adaptor works and the picture quality is as expected for old VHS recordings. Don't expect the quality to improve. IT WONT. The image will fit to your TV screen but the quality will remain as it was originally recorded.I'm pleased with this item, it has allowed me to show my girls some old films of their family and that's priceless. If you found my review useful please consider giving me a helpful vote and perhaps a follow for future reviews. Many thanks

Does what it says!
This is a very good SCART to HDMI converter. I have used it to connect my Sony DVD player, which only has a SCART connection, to my LG Smart TV which has HDMI input, so I needed to convert the SCART signal to HDMI. The picture quality is what I expected - I can't really tell the difference compared with when I used the DVD player with a SCART TV. Naturally it isn't going to give you true HD images even when set at 1080p, but it is good nonetheless. It is lightweight and has long enough cables. The power is gained by connecting the converter to the TV itself using the USB cable provided. So far so good, can't complain - time will tell how long it lasts / works!

Easy to use but quality degradation
This device is easy to install and to use. You need to make sure you have enough power outlets though because the device is powered. There is a definite degradation of picture quality in converting from SCART to HDMI, and if your TV is high quality you may be disppointed with the results from your DVD player. It is perfectly livable-with as long as you know this.

Good quality
This scart to hdmi converter converts scart input to a hdmi output. I got this for use with an old VCR player to convert the analogue signal to a digital one so that old videos I have on VCR can be recorded and backed up digitally. The product has a switch to select 720p or 1080p but doesn't really make much difference with a scart input. It is powered by a usb to circular power connector. The picture quality is good, the product itself is sturdy and well built. It is very simple and easy to use. Overall I would recommend if you still have a device with a scart connection and want to hook it up to newer tvs with hdmi.

Not as great as you'd think.
I was expecting the picture quality to be as good as it was when plugged directly into the SCART socket on my TV. If anything, when plugged into the converter, the picture quality was worse! The image looked washed out and lacked colour. The picture quality was lower and just generally awful! It reduced any clarity and made the image look terrible and added a slight smudgy look to the image. Not something you'd expect from a HDMI source. Will keep as a backup, but definitely would not recommend if looking for a permanent fix for SCART to HDMI, that's for sure.
