so we were happy to find just what we wanted on Amazon
We were not able to find a fan with all of the things we wanted locally, so we were happy to find just what we wanted on Amazon. Shipping was very fast, got here in one day. Directions were good, and the install was easier than I expected it to be. Fan motor is quiet at all speeds, but it did have the slightest shimmy on high. The balance kit that is included fixed that up, though. My only gripe is that you have to take the light dome off the bottom of the fan in order to access the switch to reverse the motor. I was expecting that function to be on the remote, actually. But the switch should be on the external housing somewhere.

Love, love, love this fan and light
We love this fan. If you are debating on using the remote control feature, be sure to hook it up. The fan on high is super fast, I can see in the summer time how much I am going to love that. For the times you just want a little air movement the low setting on the remote is ideal for that. At first the fan looked super small installed. We have a family room that is two steps down from our kitchen, so looking from the elevated kitchen area our previous ceiling fan with the lower hanging light fixture was what your eye was drawn to. Now we notice the decor in the room first, the ceiling fan isn't the focal point, which we like. We used the shortest downrod and it is about 13" from ceiling to bottom of the light.

Runs smooth and quiet but hard to change bulb
The fan is balanced well off the box. It runs smoothly without any need to adjust. The 2 60 watts equivalent LED light bulbs are way too dim to light a small bedroom or office. The dimmer control is poorly designed making it impossible to know when is the brightest position. Removing the dome to change light bulb is a 2-persons job because the housing turns when you try to turn the dome. Well engineered fan with very poor human/user design.

Quiet and low profile
I wanted a smaller fan with a low profile to circulate air in a bathroom with slightly less than 8 foot ceilings. This fits that bill nicely. It's quiet, moves a fair amount of air and is configured so that the blades are well above the head of my 6'2" 16 year old. Given his state of wakefulness when he's getting ready for school, that's pretty important. The light is brighter than I expected given other reviewers' comments. But I have plenty of other fixtures in the room. More disappointing to me is that the dimming range is very narrow, i.e., at it's dimmest it's not a lot less bright than at peak lumens. And also disappointing is that I only learned that after a pretty long wait on Hunter customer service because the remote arrived without dimming switched on. With a friendly tech's instructions (nowhere to be found in the manual or website) it was a only few minutes work to activate dimming. Why it wasn't shipped in a condition to perform as the manual says it will is a question not covered in his database. All in all, though, it's a solidly built, attractive fan that was pretty straightforward for this non-pro to install.

Glitchy product
Update Dec 19: the ceiling fan has been taken down and will be returned. I occasionally noticed a flash of light when the motor would briefly stop. This thing is a safety hazard.Original review: Like some other reviews I’ve read, this product has issues you won’t know about until it’s installed and tested. The light turns off and back on randomly, as does the fan. It’s not consistent, so sometimes the light will turn off once and that’s it, or sometimes it will turn off three or four times. The fan has the glitch more often when rotating in the winter direction on mine. Sometimes it will turn off/on one an hour, sometimes it’s every five minutes. When the fan turns off/on, it also makes a clunky noise, so if you’re a light sleeper it will probably wake you up. I’ve resorted to only using the fan in the summer direction because the issue happens way less that way. I’m very disappointed in this product, especially since I’m not about to take it all apart, box it up, and send it back.

Very disappointed in Hunter
My previous Hunter fan lasted over 30 years, and was still working when I sold my house. So, I thought buying another would be a no-brainer. Wrong. This unit has a real problem, as noted in several reviews. The fan itself is fine, but the light randomly turns itself off and on. The light's dimmer function is accessed with the remote - not mentioned anywhere in the instructions! It doesn’t work well, and eventually the light goes back to a less-than-maximum level, not nearly bright enough for my kitchen. It’s too bad I can’t bypass the remote circuitry and just hook up the light to an external switch, but there is no easy way to do that.I know my electronics, and to me this looks like a design flaw with the circuit board that is accessed with the remote control. I strongly recommend not purchasing this product. Mine is going back to Amazon.

Half of the fans we ordered didn't work!!
We bought 4 of these fans, and 2 of them arrived non-functioning! Very bad quality items. We had a professional electrician install all of them too. Since he was able to get 2 of the fans to work, he clearly knew what he was doing. We just got 2 duds out of the 4, which means a 50% failure rate. Very shoddy! I called Hunter hoping we could return the fans since it was under warranty but they would only give us new receivers. They said we have to go through their trouble shooting steps before they would even consider upholding the warranty return. To make matters worse, they wouldn't send it to us expedited and so we have to wait 7-10 business days for the replacements. We are undergoing a house renovation and these fans will not be able to be completed before the project is done, meaning we need to bring the electrician back out for a special trouble shooting session. Of course Hunter doesn't give a crap and won't do anything to help their customer; we will just have to wait until they're ready to acknowledge their failed units, and we have to pay for the trouble shooting ourselves. I regret buying these!

Great Fan!
Bought 2 of those fans and I love them! They move lots of air and the build quality is awesome. Installation is easy and clear, manual is extremely idiot proof. The only downside is that the remote could be a bit better and nicer looking. Besides that, it’s an amazing fan!

Very good, with a couple minor things to note
Looks great. Easy to install. Moves a lot of air. And is very quiet. The only reasons for 4 instead of 5 stars, are:The remove is quiet large and clunky. If you are going to install it on the wall, something sleeker, thin, and more modern looking would be much better. And it should be white too. Why it is a shade of brown/grey is beyond me if it is to be installed over a light switch, which for most people are white. And the switch to reverse the direction of the fan is underneath the light shade, so the glass light shade has to be removed to access it. It is, however, easy to remove the shade.
