Sunnyvale

I have lived in Sunnyvale all my life as did my Dad's family and I thought I knew some of the history thru his family. But only a 10th of it compared to this book. There is some amazing facts that I never know.

These are great books! Arrived on time and in good condtion.

Here is some of the interesting historical information that this book mentions: Sunnyvale’s modern era began in 1850 when Irish immigrant Martin Murphy, Jr. and his family established the Bay View Ranch. Orchards dominated the Sunnyvale landscape until about 1950. One of the Apple co-founders grew up in Sunnyvale, and Atari started in Sunnyvale in 1972. Sunnyvale was the first city in CA to have a female mayor. There are pictures in this book of Martin Murphy, Jr. and his wife, Mary. There are pictures in this book of the Murphy Family around 1880, around 1895, around 1900, and around 1920. There is a picture in this book of Virginia Reed Murphy around 1915. She was only 13 when she survived as a member of the Donner Party during 1846-1847. There is a picture in this book of the Apple co-founder and Atari founder. There is a picture of snow in Sunnyvale on January 21, 1962. There is a picture of snow in Sunnyvale on Feb. 5, 1976. This book is an interesting book to read.
