This has an herbal scent, but it's not as overpowering as some. I prefer unscented products but find this one tolerable. After you spray and massage into your scalp, it doesn't leave hair with any noticeable residue, probably because alcohol is the second ingredient and counters any possibly heaviness of the moisturizing elements. The alcohol is probably offering some antiseptic properties as well, although it's controversial since some can find it drying while others might not. It leaves a tingle to my scalp, likely from the menthol.I would be inclined to use this more often since I get itchy skin all over, including my scalp, but the scent makes me a little less attracted to using this on a regular basis.
