Professional Leak Diagnostic tool without the $1000 price tag of the SmokePro system.
We acquired this Smoke Leak Tester (which is the same as the Autool one, actually, the machine itself is branded Autool, which is great news as it has many rave reviews) to find a leak in our vehicle as we personally distrust auto mechanics as we've been burned by some before, i am sure most professionals are ethical and i just had a couple bad experiences, but i also want to know exactly what's going on with my vehicles, i am sure that the diagnostic and the labor of what i did was a lot less than what a auto shop would have charged me.The machine is easy to operate, just add baby oil to the tank, find the fitting that will work depending on your usage, seal the system if desired or needed with one of the many fittings/stoppers provided, hook the hose to the intake you want to use, connect the 12V leads to the machine and to the car battery or any external 12V power supply and you're set.For my particular use, i used the Smoke mode that helped me find a leak on a vacuum line and was really easy to detect, once identified i just turned the smoke mode off and ran just air to clean the system from the remainder of the smoke.Disconnecting the system was as straightforward as reversing the initial setup, i stored everything back in the provided bags, into the foam and into the box and i have the machine for future uses, like finding a leak on a cooling system or a leak a slow leak that my wiper washing liquid tank has, i just haven't done it yet, but will definitely do it.I do my research before i order something and this machine has rave reviews compared to the almost $1000 SmokePro used by Professional Mechanics, and this one does everything that one does and feels as durable, comes with the same amount of fitting/accessories and is as easy to operate.I would definitely recommend this machine if you're a professional, or a SERIOUS Do-it-Yourselver, it feels like it'll last you a lifetime, and definitely performs.

Cheaper than guessing and buying a ton of parts you don't need. Well made works great
If you have ever done any work on your car troubleshooting an evap leak, you understand that whenever the solution isn't a loose or defective gas gap, troubleshooting can get expensive very quickly given the fact that most auto stores will be more than happy to help you guess at what the issue is, with an assortment of parts that easily exceed the cost of this machine. My recommendation is if you have an older car buy this, it will pay for itself in parts savings after the first few uses.A few commentsThis leak detector is surprisingly well made, compact, and comes with a diverse set of accessories.Instructions are not great but check out the video posted by the manufacturer on the product page, it does a great job of explaining how to use it.I used this to troubleshoot an evap leak in my Jeep TJ, it made short work of letting me know that I had multiple leaks I need to address. :(One item I couldn't figure out what it was for is the pump that looks like a blood pressure bulb, my initial guess is that you can use it inline to release pressure and prevent excess pressure build-up, but I wasn't able to validate that theory. As far as being able to use this for exhaust manifold leak, I am sure you can, but I have found it's just as easy to hook up shop vac to my exhaust and spray soap over around the intake manifold. Leaks will manifest themselves as bubbles.
