On the Chase: Rocky Mountain K9 Unit, Book 2

Amazing, thrilling, funny
Oh my goodness, I really really loved this book! First thing I did when I had finished it, was to go online and look for the other books by the author and of course, the first book in this amazing series.Fast-paced, witty, with a great story line and really amazing characters, this book drew me in from the first page on and I didn't put it down until the end. Since I've read it that first time, I've read the first book and I've reread this book, I have listened to the audio book of the first one and then I was waiting rather impatiently for the audio book of "On the Chase".Hugh and Grace are a wonderful couple with lots of chemistry and sparks and I was either turning the pages faster and faster because I just needed to know what would happen next or I was laughing out loud because of something Hugh said or did.And seriously? I just love all those other characters, Jules Jackson and her siblings, Theo Bosco, Otto - they are vivid, very much alive and lovable and, oh, don't forget about Lexi and Viggy, I think, I fell in love with those two as well.Right now I can't wait till the next book in this series releases - soooo.....just in case, I haven't mentioned it before, I really loved reading this book and I can definitely recommend "On the Chase" as well as the first book "Run to Ground". Both books are part of the series but they can easily be read as standalones, well, apart from the fact that they are highly addictive, of course.

The love semitruck is tumbling down the mountainside at high speed with no brakes!
Another good book but it is my least favourite of the series – it still has a great plot, good twists, strong characters, intrigue, drama and steam, but there were times when I found Hugh a little bit too much. Yes he is the cheeky, fun one of the trio, but at times I found him a little overwhelming – this is just my personal opinion of course but if I was Grace there were just as many times that I would have punched him as kissed him!Having said that a lighter character is needed after Theo’s dark and broody and Otto’s direct and straight to the point personalities and let’s not forget he’s a cop, a very injured cop as he keeps laying his life on the line to protect others! So although he is very full on, with the attention span of a mischievous puppy, he also has a heart of gold and protects without question. Both Grace and Hugh are startled at the speed they fall for each other, although they are helped along by the high drama situations they keep finding themselves in, they both fall hard and fast….now all they need to do is stay alive long enough to tell each other!

A solid four and a half
A solid four and a halfI really enjoyed this authors Search and Rescue series but struggled to really get into the first book Run to Ground in this new series . In theory it should be perfect for me with interesting characters, charming dogs , romance and suspense as well. Happily I much preferred this story and maybe that's because I'm getting to know these characters and the way they react to situations. We met Hugh in the previous book when he got shot trying to protect the young brother of his partners girlfriend. As this story begins he's still on leave, cursing at being shut out of what's going on at the station . Hughs about to get a very interesting case of his own though as a new woman moves into town and it's patantly obvious that Grace is to be blunt lying through her teeth!Grace is hiding from a man who really wouldn't want her talking to the police and just how and why is something that even Grace struggles to come to terms with. Her life wasn't meant to be like this in a small town, with no money and to cap it all sharing a run down house with strangers. Still it wouldn't be all bad if only irritating Hugh would stop sneaking up on her sheesh can't a girl even go to the bathroom in peace? Apparently not! This definitely had much more suspense running through it as things start to happen that firmly put this couple in danger. The chemistry is funny as Hugh pushes Graces buttons but she always has a snarky comeback . I'm really enjoying just how diverse these mountain guys are and even though they do the same sort of work they actually feel very different and I've got my eye on a certain big quiet guy so hopefully Otto is up next. Plus if you enjoy a little cuteness then yes there's the obvious K-9 partners but cunningly we also continue to be entertained by the Jackson family who featured in the first book . Plus yet again here the younger members definitely steal whatever scene they are in.A slow burn romance that at times had me almost peaking from behind my hands as Hugh and Grace truly do go through the mill to reach their happy ending. I'm so pleased the author has got into her stride and look forward to the next book. This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Brilliantly Written
Hugh and Gracie wow what a thrilling adventure, these guys from the Rocky Mountain K9 Unit really know how to show a woman a good time....lolGracie or Kaylee is in big trouble but it will all be ok she is on the run after witnessing a horrific crime, the police can't help her, well not the ones from home but maybe, just maybe the cops in a small town can help in so many ways... lolHugh is the class clown he seriously thinks he is so funny, so when he meets Gracie the new girl in town it's funny to see him fall over his tounge lol I love Huge he is such an intense guy and just so full of love for his closest friends.I really love these stories Katie Ruggle is an amazing author whom I am just so in love with.

Laughing a lot here
Monroe, CO, K9 cop Hugh and hide away Grace are the focus in this novel as drug runners and organized crime look desperately to kill Hugh and sell Grace to a crime lord . Lots of sharp dialogue, good action and romance kept me happily entertained and even more satisfied as the great characters from book one continued to play an integral part.
