This is a well built fountain pump with a real float-sensor cutoff. Don't hesitate to spend the money if it fits your application.You should pay attention to the fitment requirement of the pump - the parameter that caught me off guard was height. The pump can fit multiple tubing size, but the adapter is a single piece that you cut down to the appropriate adapter size. When using the smallest tubing size, you use the full length adapter. This will more than double the height of the pump. In my case, this resulted in the pump not fitting into my fountain. A little creative re-engineering fixed the problem in my case, but I would have been better off buying a smaller pump.

Great design and the auto turn-off when water is low works. However, I can't get it to pump water at a stream. It's not producing a flow, even when turned all the way up, as advertised. I may have to return it.Update:Over the last 4 months I've worked to get this pump to perform as designed. I re-designed the fountain to accommodate the size of this pump. This pump has a very low stream of water for a water rise of 40 inches and that stream becomes a drip within a day. After several changes to my fountain I find that this pump does not pump water as advertised. I wish I could return it for one that does work.

I bought the 5-in-1 pump and just recently changed the original filers (yuk). I didn't know the blue and green one could rinsed out, as the white one is what I needed to order. But to my surprise! the maintenance kit comes with all three filters: (with 6 white replacements) - Awesome! These filters really do work and will definitely keep your pond water clear/clean

This is a pretty expensive pump so I expected it to last at least a year. It worked really well while it lasted so I gave it 2 stars. The cost is just too high to be a good value if the pumps stops working in less than a year. I did manage to contact the Pennington service department and they are replacing the item. So they get 2 stars more for excellent customer service.

This item was purchased to replace a similar pump that had worked tirelessly for 6 years (Little Giant).I needed a less expensive model as this may be the last year for our backyard fountain. This replacement surprised me - it has worked tirelessly all through the summer and fall as well. It does have a bit of noise, but where it is located it is of no consequence. The only down side is the lack of a simple filter; but it is easy to clean once removed from the barrel where it is located. It has easily pumped water up to a 5 foot height ; I even had to restrict the flow a bit !

I'm updating this, I'm super disappointed. The pump lasted 4 months and just stopped working. I went to their website to file a warranty claim, no way to contact them online. No instructions on how to submit a warranty claim. They did offer a phone number, I called them at 3:20pm EST on a Tuesday. An automated message said they weren't available and to leave a voicemail. Clearly the warranty has no backing and is pointless.

Fits and does the job.

Pump lasted a little less than a year before it started sticking and finally quit a couple weeks later. It was installed on a 3 tier fountain which unfortunately is a 2 day process to disassemble replace and reseal. Previous brand pumps lasted at least 2 years.

I went to my local Lowes to buy some of these, but they were out.Amazon had them for half the price. I was expecting these to be knock offs and not fit.. but they are the real deal and fit perfectly.I will be buying these again in a few months.

The lamp stopped working after about a month of use.

Failed after 1 year. Kindly replaced by Pennington. 2nd one failed after 6 months. I imagine they would replace this one too; but this pump is not r. dependable for use in my 6ft tiered fountain.Looking for a different brand now.

Purchased this pump 11/2018 for a bird water fountain, it worked amazing up until today 6/2019 (7months). The pump just simply stopped working for no apparent reason. Unsure how to access the 2yr warranty as we discarded the packaging. (One star rating because it didn’t last, if it were still working, it would definitely get 5stars... maybe I got a dud!?)HELP!

I want to love this product. It has excellent pumping power for my fairy garden with a 10 foot stream rising 3 feet. Auto shut off... SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! It stopped working after 5 months. The auto shut off stopped shutting off and then the pump just... died. Cleaning it did nothing. I'm willing to try another one under warranty, but so far, can't win a positive review.
