Beautiful!
We are getting new siding and wanted to update our garage door color without having to shell out the money for new ones. This kit came with everything needed (which made the project so much easier!). I read the instructions and watched the instructional video on their website and got to work. The process was pretty easy but the outcome was better than I expected! Our doors already had a faux-wood texture- I only applied 1 coat of the base and 1 coat of the 2nd step (and just went back in to fill in some spots I missed or didn’t apply evenly) but overall I was very impressed with the outcome. I was able to complete 2 garage doors with plenty of product left over. I highly recommend!

Awesome product!
Edit** just finished transforming my garage door and have attached photos. It looks amazing and honestly didn’t take too long. I have received so many complements already!I loved transforming my front door! From a deep burgundy color that brought no brightness or attraction to the front of my house, to a very unique “wood” door that cost much less than purchasing a new door. I love it so much, I bought the garage door kit to match. I used the English oak color. Overall the process wasn’t difficult, just a bit time consuming with prepping the door, taping, and multiple coats. But so happy with how it turned out!

Good quality product
I absolutely loved this product! It was very easy to do and it turned out great! The paint quality was great and it has good coverage. It had a good quality brush and tape making it a sooth process! I would definitely buy this again!

This is a FAUX finish!
Color: I chose the Honey Oak color for my back door since the entryway flooring was honey oak vinyl. I felt the base color was very light and slightly pinkish. The stain color is OK, but I think the contrast between base and stain (I refer to it as stain, but it is really a type of glaze that creates the wood grain look) is too great and a less than perfect application is very noticeable. I wasn't totally pleased with the results, but intrigued enough to try a different color. I chose English Oak this time. The base wasn't that much darker, but it had a warmer tone and the stain was much darker.Door: Essentially, the door I was working with was in pretty sad shape and not worth too much trouble. Layers of paint collected in panels that couldn't be easily sanded had to remain and I couldn't remove the door or knobs in fear that it could not be rehung properly or locks function. Removing the door is not necessary, but definitely remove hardware if possible.Application: I learned alot from my first attempt!1. Base coat is easy, just straight painting. Directions say to pour half into a tray, but a little goes a long way and I just used it straight out of the can. Less waste/clean-up.2. Taping for the staining is key. If you have a panel door, you will stain in two directions. Instructions say to tape out horizontal panels, stain/dry and then vertical panels, stain/dry. I felt the inset panels looked messy when the whole panel was done horizontally. I took an extra step to tape out the vertical and horizontal sections of the panel and created the look of a mitred corner(I did this in the window corners also). Even though it's a crappy door, it made a difference.3. The graining mitt is huge! As a woman I don't have a small hand, but I was swimming in it and it was hard to control. I tucked the thumb to prevent it from creating unwanted strokes in the finish and I only applied stain directly to the end of the mitt (not the whole palm as instructed). The instructions say to dampen the mitt in water and wring out the excess. It was very difficult to wring it enough and the stain got watery and dripped excessively. Learning from this I only lightly damped the one side of the mitt I used.4. Use quick light strokes. Instructions say 2-3 coats depending on desired effect. I used four. (I might have done 5, but I was low on stain because I had also refinished the beadboard under the back door overhang. Looks great and only used 3 coats) The first couple coats might look a little messy, but as it gets darker with additional coats there is less contrast and it starts to look more natural. It dries fast, but with the extra coat I wanted to be sure the taped corners were dry so I did my vertical and horizontal sections on separate days. All said and done I am fairly pleased with the results, but I also accept it for what it is, FAUX!! I don't feel it would be worthy of my front door, but I am considering the garage door version. The kit is loaded with everything you need. It's too recent to really judge the durability, but seems pretty good so far.

WOW this is good! English Oak
This is easily 5 stars. Follow the directions. Do not paint in sun or have sun hit the painted area within 4 hours of last coat. Easy application. This was a white painted door prior. 1 prime layer and 2 coats of the English Oak kit stain. Glove enclosed is all I used. Very nice kit that includes everything needed. Truly looks like real wood once complete. Highly recommend. Make sure temp is 55-85 F outside also. No rain and pick low humidity day and your project will turn out.

Easy process for a realistic wood look
I looked into different products and read lots of reviews before deciding on this brand. Although this seemed to be the better option for me, based on reviews and an online tutorial, I had already decided that I wasn't going to use the mitt included with the kit.The first coat went on nice and even (first picture- tan color), and I had at least 1/4 of the paint left over. The darker color that goes on top is more of a glaze or gel stain. I followed the directions carefully, making sure to only apply when the sun was not directly shining on the garage, and when the temp was below 85°. I brushed it on using the paint brush included in the kit, then I used an inexpensive chip brush (dry) to brush through the wet stain. This helped to pull the stain through, making it more even, and more realistic looking. I brushed in long horizontal lines for the borders of each panel, then brushed the panels in vertical strokes. I even added diagonal "mitered" lines in the corners. You could use masking tape to make all of the lines crisp and realistic looking, but I free handed it.After applying one coat of the gel stain (darker color) I had half a can left, which I intended to use for touch ups, or to even out drastic color variations. In the end, the family consensus was that it looked great just as it was, so I reinstalled the decorative hardware and called it good.We have had several neighbors stop by to tell us how much they love the transformation, many saying they would have thought it was real wood. I can't vouch for the mitt method, but bad on my end results, I would highly recommend this product

Easy to work with and get the result
I have painted my garage doors last year and happy with result - however, the amount of primer for two garage doors are sufficient, but the actual Wood Look Paint Black Walnut was not enough to get best result.

So far so good!
This package had enough to do 2 garage doors and a side door.Easy enough to apply. Most difficult part was washing the doors before starting. We are halfway through its first Canadian winter and it seems to be holding up okay.I love the look very much.

The AFTER speaks for itself!
Great little project for an amazing result! Couldn't be happier with how it turned out. Very easy to do, just give it a couple hours and be patient. The "in-process" look may freak you out but rest assured greatness is coming :) Very easy to apply all steps. Looking forward to using more of their products
