There is a lot of vocabulary and there is a clever way that these words are categorised.With 224 words in total (on both sides of 112 cards) each card, as well as the name in the picture and its category there is an animal head on the top. There are a number of different animal heads which help group cards into categorises. So, alongside learning individual words, the children will learn the concept and name of grouping.The ‘talking device’ is a cute little duck and the cards are slotted into the top. The voice then says the word. It is pleasant voice and offers hello and good bye greetings. No worries about ongoing battery costs as it is charged via USB. There is a volume button and one for repeat.Some pictures will require more adult help than others and certain concepts like countries (with objects / buildings related to these) may be initially more difficult for this age range. But there are lots of cards so to take out a few, to introduce later, won’t really be noticeable. An additional nice touch, are appropriate sounds when the word calls for it – like instruments and those in the certain categories.This seems to be one of the most substantial one of these ‘reading machines’ I have seen. Nicely presented, well boxed and currently discounted to £11.09 this feels good value for money.

I absolutely love this set of Talking Flash Cards for Toddlers Age 2+. It’s the perfect early Learning/Reading Machine with 224 Sight Words. Great for Speech Therapy and as a Montessori educational toy. My Nephew loves it. Highly recommend.
