Twin black metal day bed frame
I ordered 2 King's Brand Metal Day Beds because I really liked the sleek, trimmed down look the bed had, as well as, the height under the bed, which can be used for the King's Brand Trundle or for lots of roomy storage space. The beds arrived fast! They went together easily, everything lined up perfectly, and all the hardware and tools were included. It took about an hour to assemble each one. I was thrilled that each bed came with 12 slats that screwed into the frame, no box spring or Bunky Board needed. They are nice and sturdy and they look great in the bedrooms. The kids love them. I absolutely love them. These were well worth the money, and I have already recommended them to friends.

Metal Day Bed frame
I wanted a way to quickly update my 16 year old son's room without spending a lot of money. The King's Brand metal day bed frame did the trick. We had a pine bunk bed set in his room that had seen better days. I bought two of these frames and just used the twin mattresses I already had. the great thing is that you do not need a boxspring or bunkie board with this frame. The frame sits rather high (a little higher than a mattress and boxspring on a standard frame), but that is actually a plus, as you can use under the bed for storage. I bought an inexpensive bed in a bag set with a twin bed skirt to cover underneath. The height is about 18" off the floor, so a twin bed skirt with a long length is better at hiding stuff under the bed. It is very minimalistic in appearance and size (slightly larger in length and width than the actual mattress), so it doesn't hog up any extra space in the room. it isn't very "pretty" (only slightly better than a cot in appearance) but again, sheets, comforter, bed skirt and some pillows and you would never know. The only reason I gave this 4 out 5 stars is that I had two issues with it. It is delivered in two separate boxes, 1 with the rails and 1 with the headboard/footboard (feet.) The boxes were a little banged up and the screws were all over in one of the boxes. (The screws could have been packaged a little better, in my opinion. The kit comes with two allen wrenches. While you could put this together with the enclosed allen wrenches, I found it much easier and much faster to put it together with a socket wrench set. It was fairly simple to put together but time consuming due to all of the screws. (Each slat had to be screwed together on both ends.) I put two of these together by myself and would guess it took me 2-3 hrs each to put them together. (Even with the socket wrench set.)I do find the bed to be very sturdy and I am very happy with my purchase. My son had gone away for a week and I bought these and fixed up his room and he was very happy with it. I would think you could also put this up against the wall and plop a bunch of pillows on it to make it look more like a day bed (without the arms.) It is also high enough to put a trundle underneath if you chose. I highly recommend this bed, but you will need several hours and some patience getting it out of the packaging and putting it together.Update: My son has been using this bed for 7 months. He is 17 years old and weighs 170 lbs. The ends (footboard/headboard) are beginning to bend out and the screws are pulling. I have changed my rating from 4 stars to 1 star as it does not appear to be as sturdy as I originally thought. I have contacted the seller and they won't help me. I can't find my directions and have Googled the manufacturer, Kings Brand Furniture, and can't locate them to see if I can return them or exchange them for manufacturer's defect. I am disappointed in this purchase.

Good solid engineering
We ordered the bed frame through Amazon and it came very quickly. We ordered this bed frame to go with a trundle that we already have. It will give us more space in the guest room when we don't need a king sized bed. It is slightly taller than the trundle that we have when it is popped up, but should work if we put a mattress topper on it (evidently trundles are not necessarily a uniform height). The trundle fits well under the bed frame. The bed frame seems quite substantial--a heavy duty metal. It was easy to put together. Per the directions, assembly of the outside of the frame is best done by two people. My husband and I did that part together. The cross pieces fit well, but it took a while to tighten all the bolts. The only problem we had was that we were missing hardware. We contacted the seller through Amazon and the hardware came in the mail two days later. All in all, it was a good purchase. The room seems so spacious now--a great project room, not strictly a guest room.

Love it, fits rollaway trundle underneath and we put a twin XL mattress on top!
Love this bed, it is just what we needed. We put a standard twin size pop up trundle underneath and it fits wonderfully. We then put a twin xl mattress on the top of this and it is just fine, it barely goes over the edge and you can't see it or feel it when you lay on it. This was easy to assemble and it is VERY sturdy. Love the weight rating on this as some similar ones cannot support as much weight and we didn't want to worry about that with guests and kids piling on it. The other thing I love is that it is a slender frame, not bulky and in a small second bedroom in our condo where we are using it as a guest bedroom/office combo it is just perfect. Very pleased!

Not as good as expected.
I had bought a folding metal bed frame before for my daughter's apartment and I liked it a lot for not having to assemble anything and for the portability. But because it has many legs, the space underneath isn't very useful. This time I wanted a simple, space saving, tall and sturdy bed to put a trundle bed or other items underneath. Initially I was looking for a wooden frame, but they were either not tall enough or on a wait list. So, I ordered this one.Cons: I was disappointed to see rust stains all over the packing material as soon as I opened the box. I had to wipe clean the frames thoroughly to inspect the damages. The finish is very uneven (not attractive) and there are some rusty spots (luckily not where too visible). Also, there are NO instructions/diagrams anywhere (no picture on the box either -- the tiny picture on Amazon is the only reference you'll find), so you have to rely soley on your common sense when you put it together. You'll need extra hands and better tools to do the job better/faster.There are extra holes on the legs (maybe for optional head/foot boards) that make the bed even cheaper looking in my opinion.Pros: The frame is quite sturdy and makes no sqeeky sounds. The clearance underneath the bed is generous 15 3/4".Overall, it's not as attractive as I hoped and I regret for not buying a wooden frame instead (although they cost more and would have taken longer to receive).
