Great product! Fantastic price.
The strip between my kitchen (stone) and dining room (black laminate) had broken and come off. my house was a flip and some things they did were not the best quality. There were gaps in the flooring between the two rooms and this putty was very easy to use and did a fantastic job filling those gaps so I can install a new strip. I left it without the strip for a few days to see how durable it is and it has performed great. I love that the kit came with the putty knives and sandpaper, so for small jobs there is no need to buy the tools. Will definitely use this brand for future projects.

This review is for the white putty version
I like this material and have been having great results with it. Please note I am using the white version and painting over the repairs with primer, followed by 2 finish coats (scuffing in between). I see several negative reviews and those are mostly about the stained versions. In my opinion, stained fillers are never going to match well. You need to trial them on a hidden area and add your own stain to about a tablespoon of putty, usually a drop at a time. Stain might be red oak, walnut, hickory, or light colors like pecan. My point is, you can't expect an off the shelf product to match your wood, which has been stained my someone else before you started. And remember that for natural wood finishes (not painted), your final coat of poly or varnish will also change the color. So test that too, if you are very particular. If it is important, like a piece of family furniture, it takes time, practice and and a couple of stains to experiment with. Sanding with 300 grit, then up to 600 or 1000 on the final coat (or 0000-rated steel wool) is important if you want perfect results.

Not cedar colored, but fills wood well
IMPORTANT TO NOTE: it doesn't match wood, it dried white. Mix in sawdust or coloring to match wood or cedar. I didn't save any dust and had to make new, but didn't get it done in time as it dried. It bonds well, but gave me white spots on my deck chairs.

great!
This stuff is great! Very easy to use. I am 78 years old and my window seal had rotted out from rain blowing in around the window. So I dug out all the rotted wood and let it dry for 2 days then I followed the easy to use directions and repaired the rotted out area! Very proud of myself. It looks great and you can't even tell it was repaired! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Does not take stain
Easy to apply and sand. Would be good if you clear coated wood. Did not take my brown stain and stuck out like a sore thumb.

Not cedar color!
This product is advertised as “cedar” wood putty. Not only is the word “cedar” no where to be found on the container or box, the putty is white! If I wanted white wood putty/filler I would have gotten a $5 tube from a big box store. I paid $13 for this because it was listed as a cedar wood filler. I even tried mixing in and dusting the surface of the wet filler with cedar saw dust but it didn’t stick. What a huge disappointment!

Repaired dog chewed stair post beautifully!
I am a complete novice at this type of wood repair. This product worked amazingly well on my chewed stair post. It did take three separate applications, each allowed to dry for 24 hours before sanding and reapplying and shaping slowly back to the original form. I did add a drop or two of water each time just to keep it malleable, so that I could shape the corners with my fingers. Luckily, the Minwax Walnut stain and Rust-Oleum Kona stain I already had on hand matched the original custom stain perfectly. Knotty Alder has enough knots, and imperfections in the wood that take up stain very differently so the variation in the repair looks completely natural. Not a simple or quick fix, but a lot of patience, careful shaping, lots of precision sanding (I ordered a set of multi grit sanding files, looked like fingernail files) and making sure to dry 24 hours in between each application was more than worth not having to replace the post. It looks as good as new!
