Thailand Bar Girls, Angels and Devils

An easy, fun read. The book is a series of short stories about Thai bar girl experiences. Each story only takes ten or so minutes to read. So it's easy to read in short sittings. The stories are very entertaining especially if you have first hand experiences in Thailand. For the uninitiated, one should note that the stories are outliers on the continuum of life around these fine ladies, but I have had glimpses into many of the behaviors described in the book. So don't expect all these things to happen to you on your first trip. I have met many Angels and Devils with less extreme, yet bizarre in a fun way on a smaller scale, outcomes! The book helped me articulate a few concepts I was aware of but couldn't quite put into words myself. One example is the "rice picker body," 5555 (the number 5 in pronounced "haa" in Thai, 555=LOL), I have met many ladies there with these tight little hard bodies who never spent a single minute of their life in a gym. They described how hard the work was literally picking rice as a kid. Ergo, rice picker body... love that term, and many others in the book. Thanks!!

Hi, I enjoyed reading this book and found the stories while at times a little short were vividly written drawing me in. Not the best Peter Jaggs book I have read but still very worthy of 5 stars.

Trying to put a positive spin on Pattaya's sex tourism industry is a difficult ask for anyone, despite the author's attempts. He has certainly made a good attempt at justifying his long-term addiction to Thailand's "Sin City", but in the end, this book, as well as his others on the same subject, are obviously just a means for him to earn some more money while he trolls the soi's of Pattaya with his sleazy friends. Instead of purchasing desperate young Isaan women for "short time", he should get a spell check app for his manuscripts.

Some real true stories about the life of Croats in Thailand,a must read if you want to visit the land of smiles or already waiting for your retirement.

Another great book by Peter Jaggs. I am reading all his books. I ended up deciding not to go to Thailand because of his books, but they are fun to read.
