Easy to use and starts shortening nails on the first go!

Although the design is not much more than a glorified chopping board with sandpaper attached, for the price, it does the job. There are more expensive options on Amazon but I went with this item as I wanted to see how our dog got on with it. He hates having his nails touched or clipped and they were getting ridiculously long. Whilst this is not entirely seamless (every dog will have a dominant paw or use individual nails more than others), overall, this is a great product and is so far doing the job. I simply place some kibble underneath, hold the board over the kibble and let the dog scratch, I pick up the board and let him take some more kibble, place the board back down etc. Within a few sessions, some of his nails are down to the quick; N.B. He is a large breed with chunky nails so for a smaller dog, it may only take a couple of sessions to shorten them. The item is robust and comes with an additional piece of sandpaper. My dog weighs 60kg and has had a few sessions with this board and the original piece of sandpaper is still going strong. I would recommend trying this product. As I say, it is not seamless (it may not reach every nail, and the back ones I have no idea how we would use this on them), plus of course, the dew claws don't get touched, but overall, for the price, I am really pleased with this product. At least we only have to struggle getting a couple of nails clipped now!
