Very insightful!
I’m not in the habit of buying books by YouTubers or influencers, but I’m so glad I’ve bought this book. Anton's passion for Japanese culture and renovation truly shines through. I've always loved the traditional aesthetics in Japan, but I had no idea that locals prefer new builds to that extent, nor did I appreciate the depreciation calculations etc, which is so different from the culture in the UK. While buying a house in Japan may not be practical for most people, this book doesn't sugarcoat the challenges. I'd dearly love to do it - maybe one day! Thanks, Anton, for taking the time to write this book and for sharing your experience and knowledge. I wish you all the best in your endeavours!

Nice mix
It is a nice mix of hands on experiences, and a description of the underlying factors leading up to the current situation in Japan. There are also numerous practical pointers and tips for anyone wanting to copy Antons recipe for success.Overall a very pleasant reading experience.

A book perfect for foreigners who want to invest in real estate in Japan
I'm a Japanese person who lives in Japan and does Japanese real estate investment and renovation. What is written in this book is not particularly unusual, but from the following points, it is a good book for foreigners who want to do renovation and real estate investment in Japan.First, the content is specialized in real estate investment and its renovation, so for readers who have similar goals, there is a high possibility that they will be able to achieve the same results as the author by following what is written.Second, even foreigners like him who don't speak Japanese well can learn Japanese because the important Japanese required for this activity is written throughout.Lastly, we can learn from his actions and way of thinking as described in the book about the kind of personality that is suitable for carrying out this activity in Japan. In other words, Japanese people do not hesitate to cooperate with “good guy”.Based on the three points mentioned above, I think this is a book that can be widely recommended.

More Information & More Fun Than Expected
I've done a lot of DIY renovation in the US, and never considered doing it in Japan, so picked this book up more as a curiosity. But Anton's engaging stories about his experiences in Japan along with all of the detailed information about how to find, buy, and renovate one of the abandoned houses in Japan has me planning my trip. I really want to do this, now!! I'm not in it for the investment, I'm in it to be able to live in Japan, and this book is my roadmap. Thank you, Anton!! Great book.
