A retired logo that's hard to find
I'm a USAF veteran from 1994- and went thru the uniform change, going from 4-pocket to 3 button blues. The old uniform had the "Hap Arnold Star" logo on each button while the new uniform features the current, late 20th century logo marketing and designers created.Yes, this patch's logo is named after General Harold "Hap" Arnold and is referred to as an "Arnold Star" or "Hap Arnold Star."Since it's retirement, it's become harder and harder to find iconography with the old star.Patch quality is fine. There's nothing notable, good or bad. There's no hook and loop backing, which should be a no-no these days, instead having a so-called "iron-on" backing, YMMV. For the price I have no complaints, other than the lack of hook material on the back.Fortunately, a design featuring the Arnold Star, but with standard USAF wing shield and "US Air Force" scroll, in spice brown, is available elsewhere in the market. Both will work great on my backpacks, vest or manbag.
