No English subtitles
What I have to say about Tehran Season 2 applies to many other DVDs not in the English language. It's a comment on subtitles. If you're hard of hearing and require English subtitles, most foregn-language DVDs supply them. So far so good. If the characters speak in English at any point (as inevitably they do, English being the international language) there are no subtitles. Not so good. You struggle to follow what's being said for as long as those conversations last, which isn't very long usually, though it's embarrassing to be adrift at all when your own language is being spoken. Example: The Bureau, an otherwise excellent spy drama, where the French DGSE spies haughtily speak English to a CIA agent whose French isn't up to the task.Tehran is a special case. In Series One even the English-language dialogue is subtitled, so - good news for us deafies - we don't get lost at any point. Series Two, however, has anglicised its content to an unexpected extent (partially, I suspect, to accommodate a hoped-for American audience, partly to accommodate guest star Glenn Close, who manages only a few words of Farsi here and there); but NO ENGLISH SUBTITLES ARE PROVIDED. The absurd consequence for SDH viewers is that much of the drama is unintelligible, since important plot points are often given in English dialogue. I gave up on my Season Two DVD after Episode 3 (of 8). Deafies be warned.

Brilliant
Absolutely brilliant. You have to keep your eyes glued to the screen because of the subtitles. I loved every minute of it. Can't wait for the next series.
