Miles: The Autobiography by Miles Davis 1st (first) Edition [Paperback(1990)] Paperback

I consider Mikes Davis to be one of the greatest musicians ever. This book is special because it contains the astute observations of an observant, sensitive, brilliant and exceptionally creative artist. Miles was there at the birth of bop, the cool, and everything that came after. Every time I read this book I learned something new. A great, great book.One note about the Kindle edition. It was full of typos and glitches that made reading difficult. Buy the paperback version.

Happy it’s read, learned a lot. But it was a long read for me.I love Miles Davis and have a deeper respect for what he brought to music.

The book itself is wonderful and I highly recommend it.Nevertheless, this electronic version is actually dreadful. It apparently hasn’t been proofread and there literally are typographic errors on every page. No exaggeration. It’s difficult to read for that reason. It seems that someone simply scanned it and just let it be released for publication without proofreading it. Shame on Kindle. Readers deserve better.

5 stars for the content, 1 star for the kindle edition.I loved the book in the 90’s and reread it in the kindle version. Great format to read while streaming the music talked about. It took me a while because I enjoyed every single music period and musicians talked on the book. The only bummer was the infinite typos and crazy breaks. Please fix this!

I was always hoping Miles autobiography would be available for Kindle and was happy to see this, but.....it looks like it was transcribed for Kindle by someone who didn't finish the eighth grade. The book is not the most informative book on Miles, but was always a fun read. The poor transcription from the original book took the fun right out of it. Hard to read. Don't waste your money on this like I did. Get a print copy of the book and read it the old fashioned way. Disappointed that Amazon would even let this be sold.

Miles in the raw. All time record for use of certain curse word, 307 times!! Love it. No phony bs.

Knowledge of the time

This edition is a god forsaken embarrassment. The word trumpet is hyphenated half of the time that it shows up, the syntax and grammar are not accurate to the actual book. DO NOT BUY IT!!!!!
