I have never ordered this

Very useful guide book

The product was purchased as it advertises a CD included; no such accessory arrived with the book.

Really surprised to see the other negative review - I refer to this book all the time in my work. However this book is clearly geared towards a construction professional and/or someone with an understanding of construction details.My only negatives are that the dwg's don't appear to be 1:1 (at least when I load them) so I have to scale them up based on a dimension I can find within the book. I also find it a bit frustrating that I don't know what other details in her other books have been left out of the encyclopedia - otherwise I would buy all her books tomorrow.

Exced my expectations!

Very neat drawings, clear ideas and I easily find the parts of the photographs corresponding to the specific details.

This is an exceedingly poor book, the presentations and details are 'a whole lot less than meets the eye', the drawings are just busy saying nothing, i am unclear who would find this superficial content of any use. there is really no thematic structure to this book, there is no historical context - nothing. but what i take real exception to - is i have another book by the same author - for which i have the exact same complaints, again ordered on face-value from the amazon description. its just a cut and paste job - the same content sold under a different title, the author and publisher should be ashamed of this poor offering, not to mention having the nerve to charge the exorbitant price.

No cd inside! Low quality impression, looks like an amateur print sale. Very dissapointment!

There are a lot of pretty pictures of some good architectural projects in the first part of the book. The later part has very neatly presented detail drawings. Although the detail drawings do not correspond to the pictures or the projects. I think I didn't get anything great out of this book. I should have bought some good old fashioned construction detailing book.

For being a book about design, it is horribly designed. The main reason is - The book introduced pictures of architectural projects at the beginning, followed by the "details" section of the book. However, there is very little connecting the dots between what the detail is showing and actual construction drawings they provide. The reader, at least myself, had a very hard time actually making the connection between the technical drawings and what the details actually ends up looking at in the pictures of the projects. In my opinion, not a very good book for truly grasping all the wonderful architecture presented in the first section. It does not go very far into lending a better understanding of architectural detailing.

This book shows a very large array of different details, making it a must have for every architecture firm, from ceiling to floor, an ultimate resource for the student to the professional.

encyclopedia of Detail in Comtemporary Residential Architecture was a gift for my architect son in law who was delighted with it and will use it in his business.
