Cole HaanMen's Lambskin Shirt Collared Jacket

I waited until this jacket went on sale. The first thing I noticed was it's excellent quality. Definitely looks like the $600 retail price. This is lambskin leather - so it's smoother and softer than inferior leathers. It looks and feels like high quality leather. The zippers are sturdy. The design is minimalist, which is what drew me to this jacket. I'm not a fan of too many pockets. This jacket has one internal check pocket - which is perfect for a wallet, phone, etc.I think the most important feature of this jacket is that it's surprisingly light weight. I also own Cole Haan's Suede Moto Jacket and this Lambskin Colored Jacket feels like 1/2 the weight. The leather also feels thick and not too thin - because it's lambskin it will weigh less than cowhide leather. I like the lighter weight of this jacket because I'm more likely to wear it on cold spring or fall days and cooler winter days. I'm more likely to travel with this jacket because the lighter weight makes it more usable in a variety of climates, easier to pack, and more comfortable on airplanes.As you can see in the photos, the waist length is shorter than the sleeve length. This may look awkward when the jacket is on a hanger in your closet, but when wearing the jacket, everything looks fine. The jacket will land above hips or just at the hips. It's not a longer jacket that will extend down the butt or thighs. Keep that in mind.This leather jacket does scream high quality. The cut has a slight form fitting look and doesn't have that huge belly pouch that some standard fit jackets do. This jacket is not slim fitting so don't worry about that. It does have a very mild taper down the chest and waist - which make it look almost like a tailored jacket. I really like the cut on this jacket.I fit a medium usually but am borderline men's large in the chest and shoulder width - depending on the brand and style. I wear a 42 size suit jacket. I sized up to a large and it fits great. If I wear a thin sweater under this jacket, the fit is perfect. I can still wear a thicker sweater under the jacket and it's not too bulky. If I wear a t-shirt or collared shirt, the jacket looks a tiny bit big. I prefer the size large for me and won't size down. With the choices of S, M, L, XL, size Large is the best for me.If you are between sizes, think about what climate you'll wear this jacket in. If it's only a spring/fall jacket with a collared shirt or t-shirt underneath you can go with your usual size. But if you will wear this jacket in the winter with a sweater underneath, you likely should go up a size if you are borderline between sizes. Otherwise it may feel too tight in the chest or narrow in the shoulders. Think more about your chest and shoulder size when fitting this jacket, not your belly size. I didn't think I was going to buy this jacket but I surprised myself and purchased it and absolutely no regrets! It is exactly what I was looking for! I have yet to wear it but I already know that it is going to be perfect! Awesome brand and jacket at a vey great price! Highly recommend !
