I really like this Kindle cutter. After so much research settled on buying this one. I wanted a solid one piece no assembly needed Kindle cutter. And this is it! I have Poplar trees in my backyard and this cuts through them fine. I just need a strong base to place this on and I can really flow in cutting some Kindle. I use the (Fiskars Sledge Hammer, 4 lb, Double Flat Face, IsoCore Shock Control System, 14") to cut the wood and it works good. I cut some wood just to try it out and it splits through them great. Would highly recommend this Kindle cutter.

Our friend had one of these and we thought it was the coolest thing! It makes chopping logs into smaller kindling incredibly easy. Just pop the log in and hit the log with a hammer. This splitter is very heavy duty. Our friend had mounted his to a large round piece of tree stump, and we will probably do the same so that it can't move around while splitting. I'm very pleased with the quality and it shipped fast and was well packaged. Great birthday gift for my husband!

I purchased my home about 8 months ago. It is on 5 acres with about 20 pecan trees that are over 100 years old. I did not learn until after living here for a month or so that pecan tree branches need to be pruned regularly or they will grow so long that they will snap off the tree under their own weight.Between pruning and massive limbs crashing to the ground after a stiff breeze, I have been splitting a lot of logs. Another thing I learned about pecan trees is that the wood is very stringy and incredibly hard to split with a splitting maul and sledge.I purchased the XL after a coworker recommended something similar. After 40 days of regular use (a least once per week), I feel like I can give a good review. I am very impressed with this thing. A chunk of wood that might take me multiple hits and left me utterly exhausted only takes a 3 or 4 strikes with my 4lb sledge. It works shockingly well. The craftsmanship is better than I expected and the edge of the wedge is not showing any signs of damage.I have only 1 complaint. I wish it was a little bigger. I would love if the diameter of the ring was 6 in wider and it was 4 in taller. The current max log size is about a paper towel roll. For most people, this would be more than enough but the stuff I am dealing with is much bigger.All-in-all, I am happy with the purchase and would recommend it.

This splitter works really well when paired with a sledge hammer. I put the blade of the splitter on where I’d like the wood to split and have at it. Easy way to make kindling and much more precise than swinging an axe.I went with the XL but may get the smaller version as well.

I bought this for my husband to use at home and while we are camping. It's very well made and very heavy. Large diameter to accommodate larger pieces of wood. Blade is very sharp.

It seems to work ok on smaller pieces, but larger pieces will not fit.

I just tested out this log splitter and I’m sold. Sometimes a log with knots or large limb cutoffs got stuck and I had to hit it 10+ times with my sledgehammer, but overall I am happy with the weight and solidness of this log splitter. Solid cast iron with no welds convinces me it will last. I believe I will be using it for many years to come.

My husband loves this kindling splitter. It works just as he hoped it would. He's 70 and had no problems using it. Its Economical and easy to store. I would recommend.
