Is there no perfect pen?
I bought this as a replacement pen for a nearly identical one that I have. I'll get to why in a moment, but I wanted to point out that the description of this pen states black pen with black ink. I received blue ink, but that doesn't really matter because I replace all Parker ink with an off-brand one that seems to be smoother than the expensive Parker brand ones. Go figure. Now to the pen itself: I'll be describing my experiences with my previous pen, which is exactly the same (save for color), unless they made any major advances in build quality in the past 6 months. I should also add that I'm not a sit-in-the-office-all-day kind of guy, so my pens get some heavy use. That's not to say I'm abusing $18 pens, but they probably get some unexpected wear & tear. The first thing that went wrong with my last Parker IM was a crack in the plastic where it meets the metal tip. I was able to patch this with some super glue, and that held for the duration of its lifetime (and still to this day).Next, the color of the blue shaft began chipping/wearing off revealing the silver underneath. Not sure if this will happen with this lacquer black one, and it wasn't a total deal-breaker, as it was still a nice pen. It just took away from the "executive look" it might have had. What killed it for me happened last week: the clip piece broke off. Not only did I have nothing with which to clip the pen into my pocket, but there was nothing keeping the pen from rolling off my desk. The Parker IM certainly doesn't seem to take well to heavy use. I'm not even a fan of the thickness of the pen in my hand, or how it's weighted. But when my first one bit the dust, I went ahead and ordered a nearly identical one. Why, I'm not 100% sure, but maybe that says something. On the other hand, Parker might just be in one of those bad relationships that you just can't quit.

Nice Pen, but it Rattles
This looked like a great pen to add to any collection, and it'd been a long while since I'd used or had a Parker pen.The Parker IM feels really solid until...you write with it.The pen rattles. At first I didn't think it would be a big deal, but the rattling makes it feel cheap. On my pen, it's the push top when pushed, the button rattles against the top of the casing. The pen also has a slight rattle inside either from the spring or the refill. That being said, I really like the look and feel of the pen. I find myself writing with it more and more. If it weren't for the rattle, it'd be 5 stars and worth the money. As a matter of personal preference, I don't like Ballpoints, so if you're in the same boat, row on over to Staples, and they've got the parker Gel Retractable Quink Refill in a two pack. The Gel insert writes great, much preferable to the ballpoint. If you want the Gel insert, a lot of people online reported that their ink dried up, buy the refills from a reputable source like an office supply store and you should be fine. All in all, it's too bad that the pen rattles, because it'd almost be worth the cost if it didn't.

Very nice, couple of issues
This is a nice looking pen that functions perfectly. It is very light and feels plasticy, which I guess would be expected at this price point but a denser plastic might be nice. On a similar note, it could use a bit of texture as the plastic feels slick as well. Don't mistake me though, I like this pen quite a lot. I would jump at the same pen in a lightweight metal or a denser plastic. The mechanical bits are perfect as is the shape and it looks quite nice.

Great alternative to the Jotter
If the thin grip of the Parker Jotter is not for you, this is a great Parker alternative. The pen has a metal barrel and plastic grip section that unscrews to allow access to the refill. Aside from being wider than the Jotter, it is also about a centimeter longer.

Penna Parker

Good looking pen
Lovely looking pen but the ink is intermittent when writing. You have to keep the pen almost upright to maintain a good ink flow which is very annoying.

Lovely little pen does what I want
Bought Warehouse Deal as I had not tried plastic before. I had a chiselled metal one (for blue/black ink) and wanted something more substantial as desk pen (black ink) as my old Parker "Frontier" was showing its age (springs go in the end).IT'S A FRACKING PEN!Yes, quite a good one, not flashy but functional and perfectly happy with generic refills (I AM mean at times).
