This is a cheap product. Not cheap as on crap. Cheap as in value for money.I have had loads of similarly priced grinders over the years. Sealey, Draper, Wilkos etc. And they have all done the job, but only just.The vonhaus one is massively better. Firstly the build quality is way better than anything else at this price range. The build quality, feel of the grinder and materials used are impressive.Ive used it on a couple of car repairs, and exhaust repair and some wood work.It works very well. The gradual start up is a nice touch. It stops the grinder snatching in your hand when it starts up.I'm not using this in a professional setting, but I'm a busy home DIYer with several cars. I have Vonhaus drills, reciprocal saw, detail sander and now this grinder. All of them are great value and have worked very well

I was a ‘Bosch’ man, but fed up with the quality of their tools breaking just out of warranty.I purchased this grinder as it had good reviews, price seemed reasonable & I needed one urgently.Good points, - It’s lightweight, I like the option of the 1 of 3 position handle, nice soft start & the switch is in a good position (for left & right handed peeps) & can either be locked on or just release to stop. (the last 4 points my Bosch grinder didn’t have)Not really a bad point, - I found the switch was a little stiff at first, (I’ve two wrecked wrists, so could be that) but seems fine to me now.

The machine is simple to use and very effective when cutting through mortar. It's not overly load either.

Fit for purpose and has good as grinders double the price.

Bought this grinder solely to use in my van off an inverter for a mobile business. All other grinders have tripped the inverter due to the high load on start up.This Vonhaus works perfectly as it powers up slowly.The on/off switch was a bit unusual to start with but soon got used to it.I would think it's more suited to light/medium duty work. Not cutting up paving slabs!Great price too.

Powerful, well made and soft start so no nasty surprises. Great value too

I've got two of these and they are great value for money. The switch is on the top which is better than being on one side and as everybody has to switch these things on and off with either hand at one time or another this makes it a lot easier for everybody. I'm left handed and as nobody makes these with a switch specifically for left handed use, this is a big plus for me. The soft start is also very nice. The only down side I would say is that like many of these things they have a relatively short power lead but this is easily extended.
