These are big, bright lights that from a distance look a lot like a flickering flame. The top section alone is a foot tall. The brightness seems to be well regulated. We installed four of these, and despite differing amounts of sun they all looked evenly lit. There's an on-off switch which might be useful in preserving the charge for later use, though not necessary under normal conditions.The lights seem to do best under very dark conditions. They don't come on early in dusk, and I found reflected light from an unrelated floodlight was causing the flame light to shut off. Relocating the flame light fixed the problem. If you plan to install these someplace that gets quite a bit of other light at night (e.g., street lights, porch light, etc.) this could be an issue.

These are a nice addition to our tiki deck, but why don't they come in a taller pole option!? The flames look pretty fake up close, but are much brighter than our older solar tikis and look great in locations further away. Nice modern design, and I expect the matte black to hold up to our SoCal sun better than our older ones - which we still love - but their posts definitely bleached out (used to look like bamboo, now just solid beige.) Watch YouTube videos to get an idea of the bulb's flame effect. I think different brands may have somewhat different quality of effect but they're all pretty similar in general approach...a series of round LED circles that are programmed to move up and down in way that is pretty much like a large torch flame.

Not as bright as I wanted but it does what it's advertised to do which is to look like a flickering flame especially from a distance. This is more of an ambiance light, not really meant to light up an environment. Whether this is right for you depends on what you're looking for. I wanted something brighter. I'll have to find a way to make good use of these lights somehow. They are nice if used properly.

I really like these lights in general, but I did bump them down slightly because they in no way, shape or form look like the fire in the picture provided. They are extremely pixelated, so they still look nice, but not anything like an actual flame. My other gripe would be that they are a fairly thin plastic, so they might not last well over time (only had them a few months so far). Overall they have added a nice touch to our entryway sidewalk, so far they seem to be worth the price paid.

Very nice effect... when it works!! One lamp works nicely all night!! The other one goes out after 90 minutes!! Very Disappointing!! Wouldn't purchase again!!

I bought 10 of these. Big mistake. After just 2 days 1 stopped working then several days another and so on and so on. When more than half stop working after 2 weeks with a epic disappointment
