This is a joke right?
As an engineer with many years of experience with programming PLCs and a practical understanding of the electronic side of computers; I wanted to discover more about the human/machine interface with this book.Evans has a good writing style, and if properly edited, would provide an easy read. I can live with the odd problem with syntax and grammar, but a text book that is riddled with them is unacceptable. When I started finding mistakes in the equations, I felt for the readers who could not identify them; and wondered how much time they would be wasting trying to make sense of it all.Doorstop material.

Probably a great resource in paperback
I don't recommend the Kindle version b/c of the formatting.

Don't buy Kindle version
Kindle version is almost useless because of broken formatting.

Superb Introduction at an elementary level
This is an excellent book. Well written and goes over basic computational science and over some Python programming. Great for a beginner.

Recommended for Beginners!
Very well written and explained. Kudos to David Evans.Disclaimer: I am someone with no knowledge of computing, so I can't judge the accuracy of the information in the book. I can only say that it is well written and the explanations make sense to me.

GREAT BOOK!
This book was required reading for my first ever computer science class, and I found it to be extremely helpful!! The concepts are explained well and the book is in a format that makes it a very easy read. There is a logical sequence to the material presented in this book, with the basics presented first and the more advanced ideas explained later, with each concept building upon the last. The quality that I found most useful in this book was its use of many examples. The concepts are clearly described in theory and then concrete examples are presented in order for their applications to be understood. I was also pleased with the breadth and depth of material that this book has to offer. I never knew I would learn so much about so many different disciplines when I began reading this. Overall, this book is well-written, concise but not lacking, and a great way to learn the concepts of computing!!
