So far seems to be doing job.
So I thought I would take out my skimmer on marine tank as noise was getting on my nerves, and give these filters a try. I cut to size and will get 2 lots of filters out from this size. So far they seem to be collecting debris straight from return pipe though have noticed a slight skim on top of water in sump compartments. I am going to add a sock so debris filters into first before going onto filter to see if this makes a difference. This may be a more expensive way long term so will decide how long until I need to change filters to decide whether I need to buy another filter. Filter is easier than having to empty skimmer cup.

Wasn't quite what expected
I was expecting it to fit (or at least be able to be cut) into place for the filter, but it wasn't quite working out the way it should have and the way previous filters did. It may just be the filter I am using, but I will need to look for an alternative 'cloth' style one to fit in as this doesn't seem to be doing as well a job as I hoped. Not saying it's useless, just not working for my needs.

Great for reducing nitrates
I've used this for years, I cut this into roughly 4cm squares & put four them into an internal box filter, replacing the oldest one each week. The nitrates in my marine tank are now <10ppm.

Did the job
I used these when adding Discus to my newly cycled tank. It was fully stocked in one go and the pads just mopped up anything that the filter didn’t cope with for the first few days.
