These are fine for sticking it in your bag but it’s not what I prefer.I thought I would like it but it’s OK. It’s not for me.

a different option for medicine storage
I am not sure if this is the medical cooling pouch for me, but it may work well for others who don't have access to a freezer, ice, or ice pack. It takes some prep time - you have to soak the inner pouch in cold water for 20-30 minutes to "activate the crystals." There's no indication what these crystals are but they feel like tiny granules that expand into something like a tapioca bead once fully soaked (my guess is that is some kind of water bead, like an orbeez, but not quite as big. After soaking, you have to squeeze out the water and let it sit on a towel for another 5 min before you add the medication and put it inside the outer blue pouch. This did keep the medication cooler than air temperature this summer when left outside, but not at the same level as an ice pack, so I wouldn't rely on this in really hot weather for long periods of time. You can "reactivate" the beads by soaking again in cold water for 5-10 min, but once the beads shrink back to granule size, then it takes the full amount of time to start the process again. It takes a while for the pouch to dry out and the beads to shrink - it took about a week on my counter for the beads to shrink.

Convenient and Portable.
I recently started using the 4ALLFAMILY CHILLER and here’s what I think:Performance: This cooling pack is great for carrying insulin and other temperature-sensitive medicines. I was initially skeptical about its effectiveness without electricity or a freezer, but it exceeded my expectations. Once kept in the freezer, it remains ready to use for several hours, keeping my insulin at the right temperature even during long trips. This feature is incredibly convenient for travel or when you're on the go.Ease of Use: The 4ALLFAMILY CHILLER is straightforward to use. Simply freeze it ahead of time, and it’s good to go. It’s ideal for trips where access to refrigeration might be limited. I’ve used it several times now, and it consistently maintains a cool temperature providing peace of mind.Design and Portability: The design is compact and practical, making it easy to carry in a bag or travel case. It’s durable and has held up well, even with regular use. The convenience of not needing electricity or a freezer while traveling is a significant advantage.Effectiveness: It performs as promised, keeping insulin and other temperature-sensitive medicines cool for several hours. This has been a reliable solution for my needs, ensuring my medication remains effective throughout the day.Overall: The 4ALLFAMILY CHILLER is an excellent investment for anyone who needs to transport insulin or other medicines that require temperature control. It’s easy to use, effective, and very portable. While I wish it could keep items cool for a bit longer, especially in very hot conditions, it does a great job for the time it does maintain the temperature. Highly recommended for its practicality and efficiency!

Initial impressions: Not even close to worth...
...what the manufacturer wants to charge for this cooling pack & pouch. Very poor value & poorly designed. The pouch itself uses a flimsy blue waffle fabric (reminds me of a disposable blue hospital examination gown but slightly thicker) to contain whatever pens you plan on cooling. That's it.No insulation, no Mylar or other reflective fabric lining it & not waterproof. There are 2 rows of loop sewn to the outer pouch rather than just 1 to accommodate slightly longer pens when you close the pouch with the flap with the hooks sewn to it but it looks & feels low quality. The outer pouch may be fine for carrying around your children's school writing pens & pencils but not your precious expensive medicines.Moving on to the inner pouch filled with gel beads, it arrived with a tiny number of gel beads in it all clumped at 1 end of the pouch. So this means you are going to have to massage it while it is wet with water to get the cooling gel beads more evenly distributed which is a messy wet job (think like shifting the stuffing around in a tiny poorly sewn lumpy wet comforter after it has been through a wash but at least the wet mess is smaller here). The gel beads do become swollen with water so they do that okay (give that process *at least* 20 minutes, 30 is better). But after drying off the swollen inner pouch for 5 minutes getting it into the pathetic outer pouch is a chore. And because the beads can shift freely around inside the inner pouch, expect regions of your pens containing medicine to not stay as cool as other regions of your pens better surrounded with gel beads. An absolutely unacceptable design, am repurposing the inner pouch to use as a cool compress after being outside in the summer heat & just not using this with medicines at all. It's worth at most a few dollars (not even as much as $10 & at this writing the retail price is over 3 times that).Stick with something that uses a freezer pack & has more insulation around the freezer pack to keep your medicine pens cool or better cold.

It is pretty small and fits almost anywhere
Came with clear instructions on how to use and so far really liking how the cooling pack.Somehow I find it a lot better than taking an ice pack and I don’t have to worry about having to freeze it even if there is no freezer around.Plan on using on a big upcoming trip so I will see how good it is when a fridge is not available but so far it has made storing my meds a lot easier.Only concern is I feel like the pouch everything comes in does not feel very sturdy but so far it’s holding out.

Simple to use, no ice packs
first use was easy, put insert in water, after 20 minutes all the "gel" has expanded and then put insert in outer pouch. It looked as though after gel expanded it might be difficult to get into pouch, but that was not the case. 2 days later things are still cooler than the ambient temperature. The expanded gel also provides cushion to the syringes. It is also nice that refreshing the gel for continued use does not take very long.
